Best platform to monitor site health for AI search in 2026
Which platforms actually watch the technical health of your site for AI search: crawl access, audits, citations and traffic, compared with sourced pricing.
"Site health" used to mean a crawl report: broken links, redirect chains, missing titles. For AI search it means something wider. Can GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and ClaudeBot reach your pages? Do those pages return errors when they do? Are the pages that get fetched also the pages that get cited? Most tools that call themselves AI search monitors answer only the last visible symptom, which is whether your brand showed up in an answer. Very few look at the technical cause.
That split drives this ranking. We sorted platforms by how much of the chain they cover: site audit, AI crawler access, citation tracking, and traffic that arrives from AI engines.
What site health means for AI search
Three layers matter.
Crawlability. If an AI crawler is blocked by robots.txt, a CDN rule or a server error, the page cannot be fetched, and it is unlikely to be cited. This is invisible in a classic rank tracker.
Page quality signals. Standard technical checks still apply: status codes, internal linking, thin or duplicated content. These are what a site audit covers.
The outcome loop. A healthy site should show crawls turning into citations and citations turning into visits. If it does not, you need to know which step breaks.
Ranking: platforms for monitoring site health in AI search
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch is the only platform in this group that covers all three layers in one workspace, which is why it comes first.
- Site audit: weekly Site Health audits with 21 checks, a health score, what changed since the last run, and a weekly email. Site Content and Site Linking reports sit alongside crawlability checks.
- Agent Analytics: real-time AI crawler logs, IP-verified so spoofed user agents are filtered out. It tracks GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, Claude-User, PerplexityBot and others, shows errors with failure explanations, and ties crawls to citations with a citation rate per page.
- 360 Insights: crawler logs, citation clicks and AI-referred visits joined per page, plus Search Insights that overlay Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster data.
- Visitor analytics: AI-referred traffic and conversions through a lightweight script, a GTM template or the WordPress plugin.
- Action Board: a prioritized list of what to fix next.
Pricing: Explore is free (ChatGPT only, 10 prompts). Essential is $95 a month and includes the site audit but not crawler logs. Crawler logs start on Professional at $245 a month. Business is $579. Agency plans start at $199 a month with crawler logs on every plan. Monthly plans carry a 7-day trial.
2. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ tracks how a brand appears in AI answers, builds a GEO score and turns gaps into actions through an Action Center. Its pricing page lists Google Analytics and Search Console connections and Shopify and Webflow integrations. Starter is $295 a month with 3,600 credits, where one credit equals one AI response. We found no published crawler-log product or site audit with a health score, so it is strong on the optimization side and lighter on technical monitoring.
3. Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI is closer to the technical question than most. Beyond visibility tracking it includes site audits and AI agent and bot traffic reporting, and its Agent Experience Platform serves AI-optimized versions of pages to LLM crawlers. Core is $250 a month with 125 prompts, 5 site audits a month and four tracked LLMs. If your main worry is how crawlers see your pages, it deserves a look. Promptwatch goes further on citation paths and visitor conversion data.
4. Profound
Profound lists Agent Analytics alongside Answer Engine Insights. Its pricing page shows a free 7-day Trial and a custom Enterprise plan with SSO and SOC 2. An earlier estimate in our catalog put Enterprise at about $40k a year, which we have not re-confirmed. It is sold as a broader AI marketing suite, so budget and scope should be settled before you start.
5. Ahrefs Brand Radar
Ahrefs Brand Radar reports on AI crawler activity, YouTube and Reddit sources, and sits inside the Ahrefs suite. Custom Prompts are included with paid Ahrefs plans, and the AI Visibility Index starts at $199 a month. It does not give you a crawl-to-citation path or conversion analytics in the way an end-to-end platform does.
6. SE Ranking and Semrush
SE Ranking is a traditional SEO suite with an AI Search add-on from EUR 79 a month on top of Core from EUR 109. Semrush AI Toolkit is listed at $99 a month per domain as an add-on, though we could not re-verify that on the vendor page. Both give you familiar site audits, and both treat AI visibility as an extension of rankings.

Who should pick which
Technical SEO leads who need the full chain should start with Promptwatch. The deciding factor is usually the crawler logs and the crawl-to-citation view, because that is where a blocked bot or a failing template shows up. Trackers cannot show it.
Teams that mainly want optimization tasks and do not need log data can look at AthenaHQ.
Teams worried about how crawlers render their pages should compare Scrunch AI with Promptwatch on that specific point.
Existing Ahrefs or SE Ranking shops may prefer to keep AI checks inside the suite they already pay for, accepting lighter depth.
What no platform can do
No tool can promise that fixing site health gets you cited. Crawl access is a precondition, not a guarantee. What monitoring gives you is the ability to rule out technical causes and to see which fixes moved the numbers. Run a weekly audit, watch crawl errors by bot, and compare the pages that get fetched with the pages that get cited.
A practical starting workflow
- Run the free AI Visibility Report or an Explore project to see where you stand.
- Connect your CDN or the WordPress plugin to start collecting crawler logs.
- Read the first weekly site audit and fix the failures that hit pages you care about.
- Check the Action Board for the next priorities and repeat.
For most teams, the combination of audit plus crawler logs plus citation data in one place is the real answer to "best platform", and that combination is what Promptwatch ships.
