Best platform to track AI visibility by location
Which platform tracks AI visibility by location best? We compare Promptwatch, Local Falcon, BrightLocal, AthenaHQ and Goodie AI on country, city and coordinates.
"By location" can mean three different things, and the right platform depends on which one you need. It might mean country and language, so you can see how a brand performs in Germany versus the US. It might mean city or state, for businesses that serve regions. Or it might mean a precise spot on the map, because the answer to "best dentist near me" changes when you move a few hundred meters. Most platforms handle the first, a few handle the second, and very few handle the third. Here is how the main options compare.
The three levels of location tracking
Country and language. Nearly every serious tracker offers some version of this. The differences lie in cost: some plans are single-country, some charge per country, and some include it everywhere.
State and city. Rarer. This is what multi-location brands and regional service businesses need. It is also where plan gating starts to bite.
Coordinates. The hardest level. AI engines that use maps and local results respond to where the user appears to be. Tracking at that level means pinning the monitor to a specific point and radius.
Which you need depends on the business. A SaaS company with three markets needs country tracking. A franchise with 40 outlets needs city or coordinate tracking. A single-location restaurant needs the tightest radius.

1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch covers all three levels in one platform, which is why it leads this list. Country-level tracking is included on every paid plan. State and city tracking begins on the Business plan ($579/mo) and is also on every agency plan. In October 2026 it added Local GEO/SEO targeting, which pins a monitor to exact coordinates with a radius from 20 meters to 5 kilometers, so ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode answer as if asked from that spot. Other models fall back to country, state or city. Coordinate targeting is available on Business, Agency Scale and Enterprise.
Location is only part of why it fits. Monitors run daily per model, country and language, so you can compare locations side by side with a heatmap that compares any two dimensions, such as countries and models. Citation analytics shows which local sources get cited in each place, crawler logs show whether AI bots reach your location pages, and visitor analytics ties AI-referred visits to conversions. For agencies, unlimited projects and pitch projects make multi-client local reporting practical.
Limits: coordinate tracking lives on the higher plans. Essential ($95/mo) and Professional ($245/mo) are country-level only. And no platform can guarantee that you appear in a local answer.
2. Local Falcon
Local Falcon built its name on geo-grid rank tracking for Google Maps and Apple Maps and now runs AI visibility scans the same way. It sends the same prompt from every point on a grid, from 9 points (3x3) up to 441 (21x21), and maps where a business is recommended. Platforms listed are ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Grok. Reports include Share of AI Voice and a Buyer Persuasion Score from -10 to +10.
It is the best pure local-grid tool here, and it is cheap to try: Starter is $24.99/mo for 7,500 credits, with 100 free credits and no card. Credits are consumed per grid point, so a single 9x9 scan uses 81, and heavy grid tracking can drain a plan fast. It does not give you crawler logs or conversion tracking.
3. BrightLocal Local AI Visibility
BrightLocal Local AI Visibility is a module in BrightLocal's local SEO platform. It tracks up to 20 prompts per location on ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews, scores each location from 0 to 100 against the competitors AI recommends, and shows a leaderboard of directories AI cites. It is included in Track, Manage and Grow plans, which for one location are $41, $54 and $65 a month on monthly billing. Limits: three engines only, a hard cap of 20 prompts per location, and no export or white-label reporting per the help center at the time of reading.
4. AthenaHQ and Goodie AI
AthenaHQ Starter at $295/mo is single-country, and multi-region and multi-language support sit on Enterprise. Goodie AI Core ($295/mo) covers two countries and Pro ($999/mo) five. Both handle the country level adequately; neither publishes city or coordinate targeting that we could verify.
5. Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI Core ($250/mo) covers four LLMs and is stronger on crawler-side optimization than on location depth. Check with the vendor if sub-country tracking is a requirement.
Who should pick which
- A multi-location brand or agency that needs country, city and coordinates plus the full measurement chain: Promptwatch (Business or an agency plan).
- A local SEO shop that thinks in Maps grids and wants a cheap start: Local Falcon.
- A business already on BrightLocal with a handful of locations: BrightLocal Local AI Visibility.
- Multi-country brands that only need country-level data: Promptwatch Essential or Professional, or AthenaHQ if single-country is enough.
A note on method
Whatever you pick, keep prompts realistic ("emergency plumber open now", not "plumbing services"), run them daily, and compare locations on the same prompt set. Treat single answers with suspicion, since models vary. And expect the tool to tell you where you are missing, not to fix it for you.
