Best platforms for agentic engine optimization
The best platforms for agentic engine optimization, ranked: tools that monitor, optimize and publish, not just report. Sourced pricing and who should pick which.
The best platforms for agentic engine optimization are the ones where software agents do real work across the whole loop: they watch how AI engines treat your brand, work out what to change and help publish it, with a human approving the result. By that test, Promptwatch ranks first, followed by AthenaHQ and Scrunch AI, with a separate group of agentic SEO automation tools that act well but measure little.
What "agentic engine optimization" should mean
The phrase gets used loosely. A useful definition has three parts:
- Monitor. Track how AI engines mention and cite you, across prompts, engines and countries.
- Decide. Turn the data into specific, evidence-backed actions, not generic advice.
- Act. Draft, refresh or publish content, fix technical issues, or hand work to a person, with a review step.
A platform that only reports is a tracker. A platform that only writes articles is a content tool. Agentic engine optimization needs the loop between them, because an agent that acts without measurement has no way to know whether the action worked.
How we ranked
We scored platforms on four questions: Do they measure AI visibility properly? Do they explain why with citations and crawler data? Do they act through agents or automation? And do they let you keep control? Pricing comes from each vendor's public page as recorded in our catalog, mostly read on 24 October 2026 or 5 September 2026.
The ranking
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch positions itself around agentic AI search optimization: agents that monitor, optimize and publish, not only report. The pieces are concrete.
- Monitoring. Daily prompt panels per model, country and language, with Visibility Score, Share of Voice, Sentiment and Position in Answer.
- Diagnosis. Citation analytics, IP-verified AI crawler logs through Agent Analytics, and 360 Insights that join crawler logs, citation clicks and AI-referred visits per page.
- Decision. The Action Board, where a Discovery agent investigates the data weekly and suggests up to five evidence-backed actions per run.
- Conversation. Agent Chat, an analyst over live data that runs multi-step workflows, builds dashboards and generates PDF reports, with Scheduled Chats.
- Action. The Content Agent plans, writes and publishes against visibility gaps on a schedule, with a review inbox or a hands-off mode with a quality check. It publishes to WordPress, Webflow and Framer.
- Access for your own agents. A hosted MCP server and REST API.
Plan notes: Essential is $95 a month, Professional $245, Business $579. The Content Agent and the managed Agentic AI Search Optimization service start on Business. Crawler logs start on Professional. Agency plans (Kick-off $199, Growth $399, Scale $799) include Agent Chat and MCP but not the automated Content Agent.
2. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ is an action-oriented GEO platform with an Action Center and a content optimization agent. Per its pricing page as read on 24 October 2026, Starter is $295 a month with credits, and there is a free Essential tier. Our catalog notes it has no published crawler-log product.
3. Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI is monitoring plus an Agent Experience Platform that serves AI-optimized versions of pages to LLM crawlers. Core is $250 a month, and AXP sits at Enterprise.
4. Profound
Profound sells itself as an AI Marketer with agents for research, content, reporting and workflows. The real product is Enterprise, with an earlier estimate of about $40k a year. It sits below the dedicated AI search platforms because the agents are broad marketing tools.
5. Agentic SEO automation tools
These act, but they do not measure AI visibility in depth. Our catalog marks the absence of published crawler logs, citation analytics and visitor conversions for each.

Who should pick which
- You want the full loop with measurement, in one product: Promptwatch.
- You want an action queue and can budget for credits: AthenaHQ.
- You want crawler-side optimization on a defined plan: Scrunch AI.
- You are an enterprise buyer who wants a services-heavy marketing agent suite: Profound.
- You are a developer-led team that wants fixes as pull requests: Okara, Seology or DispatchSEO, paired with a visibility platform for measurement.
- You mainly need article throughput: Outrank or SEObot, with the same pairing.
The caution on agents
Agents that publish without measurement can produce volume that does nothing. Keep a human review step, and check citations and crawler logs after changes to see what worked. And no platform can guarantee that an engine will recommend you.
