Brand Monitoring Tools for ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude
Nine brand monitoring tools for ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude, sorted by what they do after they find a mention: send an alert, recommend a fix, or draft and publish the fix themselves.
Finding the mention is the easy half. A brand monitoring tool for ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude will tell you that Claude named a competitor for your best prompt this morning. Then what? Some tools send you an email. Some write a recommendation. A few draft the fix and push it to your CMS after you approve it.
That second half is how we sort this list. Every tool here monitors more than one assistant, and for each we note which of the three engines its catalog entry names and on which plan. When the entry is silent on Claude, we say "not published." Then we put each tool in one of three buckets:
- Alert: tells you something changed. You do the rest.
- Recommend: tells you what to change. You still do the work.
- Act: drafts or ships the change, usually behind a review step.
What the monitor has to get right first
An agent acting on bad data just ships bad fixes faster. Before you care what a tool does next, check its inputs.
The prompt set should be identical across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude, so a gap in one engine is a real gap and not a wording difference. Personas decide who is asking, and country tracking decides where; in Promptwatch, country is on every plan and state and city tracking start on Business and come with every agency plan. Cadence matters too. Answers shift between runs, so a tool that acts on one weekly sample can chase a result that was gone by the next check. Daily refresh plus a trend view, like Promptwatch's prompt trends showing what changed between checks, keeps an agent from reacting to noise.
The engines also differ in how they reach you. OpenAI's OAI-SearchBot surfaces pages in ChatGPT search. PerplexityBot does the same for Perplexity and isn't used for training. Anthropic runs ClaudeBot, Claude-User, and Claude-SearchBot as separate bots, blocked separately per subdomain. A missing Claude mention can be a content problem or a robots.txt line that blocked Claude-SearchBot by accident. An agent that only writes content can't tell those apart.
The ranked list
1. Promptwatch: act
Promptwatch monitors the real interfaces of ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude, plus Gemini, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. Paid prompts run on every tracked LLM with a daily refresh. Essential is $95/mo; Professional is $245/mo; agency plans start at $199/mo. The free Explore plan is ChatGPT only, 10 prompts.
After a mention, the work splits into diagnosis and execution, and Promptwatch handles both. Citation analytics shows which pages, domains, Reddit threads, and YouTube videos the engine cited instead of you. Agent Analytics shows whether ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot fetched your page, the crawl-to-citation path, and any errors. Sentiment and share of voice frame how bad the miss is. Unified Actions turns all of that into a to-do list, and Agent Chat answers follow-up questions over the live data.
Then the Content Agents take over. They run content gap analysis, plan and write the missing page, and publish it to Webflow, Framer, or WordPress (through an official plugin) after a person approves it in the review inbox. On Framer, going live redeploys the whole site, so schedule accordingly. If you work from Claude or Cursor, the MCP server exposes the same loop as tools such as listActionItems, getCitations, getCrawlerTrend, listContentGapPrompts, createContent, and publishContentLive.
2. AthenaHQ: recommend, with tasks
AthenaHQ names ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude among its engines. Its Action Center turns visibility data into assignable tasks such as schema generation, content reformatting, and LLM metadata optimization, and the entry credits it with automated schema and entity tagging at scale. The entry also says recommendations still need editing before they ship. Starter is $295/mo ($245 annual), one country, credit-based.
3. Scrunch AI: act, on the crawler side
Scrunch AI acts in an unusual place. Its Agent Experience Platform serves AI-optimized versions of your pages to LLM crawlers without changing the human-facing site. The entry doesn't name its engines (up to nine on Enterprise), so Claude is "not published." It lists weekly refreshes and says optimization advice shows where you're not cited more than what to change. From $250/mo annual.
4. Superlines: recommend and generate
Superlines lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude among ten live-interface engines, with any 3 on self-serve. After a mention it offers an Action Center with prioritized next steps, an article generator, a schema optimizer, and an in-app agent, with MCP on every plan. Starter is €79/mo for 50 prompts and 5 generated articles.
5. Cognizo: generate
Cognizo lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude among eight engines. Its Platform plan ($499/mo) covers 5 platforms, without saying which, and includes 8 AI articles a month. Done-for-You ($899/mo) adds 180 articles over six months and lead tracking. Confirm Claude is in your five.
6. Profound: agents, on Enterprise
Profound now sells marketing agents for AEO, content, demand, and PR. Claude and Perplexity are on its Enterprise engine list, from about $40k a year. Starter ($99/mo annual) is ChatGPT only. Growth ($399/mo annual) covers three unnamed engines.
7. Gauge: generate
Gauge runs 600 prompts daily across 6 engines, ChatGPT and Perplexity included, and ships 18 publish-ready articles a month plus nightly content Health Score audits. Claude is Enterprise-gated. Growth is $599/mo.
8. Semrush AI Toolkit: recommend
Semrush AI Toolkit tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overviews for $99/mo per domain. Claude sits on the sales-gated Enterprise AIO tier. The entry warns its recommendations can be generic, so plan on doing the thinking yourself.
9. Brand24: alert
Brand24 covers ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and six more engines as an add-on to its social listening. After a mention it alerts: the Events Detector sends email and Slack notifications on spikes and drops, with anomaly detection. Good coverage, but the next step is yours. Price not published.

What an acting tool should do after a miss
Here's the loop we'd want any agent to run when Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity leaves you out or describes you badly.
- Pull the raw answer and its cited sources. A competitor named because of a comparison article needs a different fix than one named because of a Reddit thread.
- Check crawl access for that engine. If Claude-SearchBot is blocked, writing a new page won't help.
- Check crawler logs for the page you expected to be cited. A fetch with an error is a technical fix, not a content one.
- Look for a content gap. If no page answers the prompt, draft one from your own facts.
- For a negative mention, find the source carrying the framing. If it's your page, refresh it. If it's a third party, that's outreach, which stays human.
- Publish behind a review step, then watch the trend. OpenAI says robots.txt changes for search take about 24 hours, and Perplexity says up to 24 hours, so give a fix a day before judging it.
Alert tools stop at the trigger, and recommendation tools stop after step 4 or 5. Promptwatch covers steps 1 through 6 in one product, which is why it ranks first here. For a Claude-specific version of this loop, see what an agent should do when Claude's citation crawler grows.
Who should pick which
- You want the miss diagnosed and the fix drafted and published after your approval: Promptwatch.
- You have a team to execute and want tasks assigned: AthenaHQ.
- You'd rather change what crawlers read than the live site: Scrunch AI.
- A small budget with these three engines and some generated content: Superlines.
- Content volume is the priority: Cognizo (confirm Claude is in your five platforms) or Gauge (Claude on Enterprise).
- Enterprise buyers already in talks with Profound: its agents, on Enterprise.
