DemandSphere vs Promptwatch: SERP Tracker With LLM Rows, or an Agent That Ships?

DemandSphere adds daily LLM tracking to SERP analytics from $79/mo billed annually. Promptwatch writes, publishes and verifies. Compared on which one acts.

DemandSphere DemandMetrics GenAI and Promptwatch can cost the same $95 a month, and that is roughly where the overlap ends. DemandSphere is a search analytics company (founded in Tokyo in 2009, according to its llms.txt) that folded LLM prompt tracking into its SERP product. Promptwatch is built around AI search and adds agents that write and publish. On this site the question is always the same: once the tool finds a gap, does it do anything about it?

DemandSphere facts below come from its pricing and product pages as read on 14 October 2026. Promptwatch facts come from its llms.txt.

What DemandSphere does well

The shared budget is clever if you run an SEO team. One prompt costs ten keywords, so Starter's daily budget is 1,000 keywords, 100 prompts, or a split such as 500 keywords and 50 prompts. Everything refreshes daily, even on the entry plan. API access, Search Console, GA4, Google Drive and Slack come with every plan, and so do unlimited users and domains. An agency with twenty people logging in will notice that last part.

The SERP side is deep, with pixel depth, SERP Rewind and 65+ SERP feature types. Chat Rewind does the same job for AI answers and lets you replay what an engine said on an earlier date. Enterprise buyers can add Analytics AX, which is log analytics with AI bot detection (hot storage costs $0.40 per GB for the most recent 30 days), plus a managed BigQuery warehouse.

Where it stops

DemandSphere reports. Its pages do not describe an agent that drafts a page, prepares a fix or publishes anything. When a prompt goes missing, the next step is a person reading a dashboard and opening a doc.

The budget math bites too. 100 prompts on Starter means zero keywords, and the $79 headline needs annual billing. The crawler logs that would tell you whether ChatGPT's bot ever fetched your page sit behind an Enterprise contract. The pages also disagree on engine count: the plan cards name five, a tooltip adds Copilot, and the product page mentions "10+ AI engines" without listing them.

Where Promptwatch acts

Promptwatch runs the whole loop. Content gap analysis finds the prompts where competitors get cited and you don't. Content Agents plan and write the page, park it in a review inbox, and publish it to Webflow, Framer, or WordPress once someone approves. Unified Actions turns the rest of the findings into a to-do list.

Then it checks the work. Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther and Meta's AI crawler, maps the crawl-to-citation path and flags errors. Visitor analytics, installed with a lightweight script or a GTM template, attributes AI-referred visits and conversions. Prompt trends and citation trends show what changed between checks, so you are not comparing two screenshots by eye.

One caveat, stated plainly. Essential at $95 has no listed crawler-log allowance. Agent Analytics starts on Professional at $245 a month (25M crawler logs) and on every agency plan, beginning with Kick-off at $199.

Who should pick which

Pick DemandSphere if SERPs are still the main event and AI answers are a second report you want on the same daily schedule. Unlimited seats, API access on Starter and the SERP feature depth are real advantages, and a team that already lives in rank data will feel at home.

Pick Promptwatch if AI search is a channel you are trying to grow. You get more named engines, prompt volumes and difficulty scores for deciding what to chase, and agents that ship the fix and then show whether bots read it and visitors converted.

Verdict

At the same $95 a month, DemandSphere gives you more prompts and more seats, while Promptwatch gives you a loop that ends in a published page and a measured result. For an agentic team the second matters more. The deciding factor is usually the crawler logs: DemandSphere sells them as an Enterprise add-on, and Promptwatch includes them from Professional up. You can start on the free Explore plan to see your ChatGPT prompts before you commit.

FAQ

Is DemandSphere cheaper than Promptwatch?

At the entry level they match. DemandSphere Starter is $95 billed monthly ($79 a month billed annually) and Promptwatch Essential is $95. DemandSphere Pro is $250 monthly against $245 for Promptwatch Professional. The difference is what the money buys.

Does DemandSphere track AI crawlers?

Through Analytics AX, which the pricing page lists as an Enterprise add-on billed on storage. It is not part of Starter or Pro.

Can DemandSphere publish content?

Its pages do not describe content generation or CMS publishing. Promptwatch's Content Agents publish to Webflow and Framer after a person approves the draft.
