DispatchSEO Review 2026: Open-Source SEO Manager for Claude Code
DispatchSEO runs over MCP for Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, writes one article a day, and ships everything as pull requests. Self-host is free under AGPL-3.0.
A tool ranks up on this site when it acts after the score. DispatchSEO does that from inside your coding agent. It is an open-source SEO manager that runs over MCP for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, the ordinary Claude app, Gemini CLI, and Copilot. It writes one article a day, tracks ranks daily, and ships everything as pull requests on GitHub Actions in your own repo. Self-host is free under AGPL-3.0.
We fetched the DispatchSEO homepage and pricing page on 5 September 2026. The numbers below come from that fetch and the catalog entry. Where the vendor does not publish a number, we say so.
The MCP surface
DispatchSEO exposes its full tool set over a native MCP server: queue, keywords, rankings, pages, GSC stats, backlink prospects, trend topics, and site profile. That means your coding agent drives SEO from chat instead of a dashboard. You ask Claude Code to queue a keyword, pull GSC stats, and draft an article, and it does.
The clients that connect are the ones agencies already run. Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor are the headline targets, including unattended overnight builders. The ordinary Claude app, Gemini CLI, and Copilot also connect over standard MCP. ChatGPT cannot connect yet, per the vendor FAQ. That is a real limit, not a hedge.
One article a day, as pull requests
The cadence is one article a day, every day, with daily rank tracking and AI Overview tracking. Approve or full-auto mode controls how much you review. Everything ships as pull requests on GitHub Actions in your own repo, so nothing goes live without your say and the audit trail is git history.
That is the agentic standard we care about. A tool that publishes straight to a CMS without a review step is a fire-and-forget bot. DispatchSEO keeps the human in the merge loop, which is the design we want for content that represents a brand.
One-click Search Console, hourly GSC sync, index status monitoring, domain rating tracking, backlink prospecting, trending topic scans, and content quality checks round out the surface. The paid cloud bundles SERP and volume data so you do not have to wire up a DataForSEO account yourself.
Pricing
Starter is $20 per month annual, or $29 monthly, for 1 site, one article a day, daily rank tracking, AI Overview tracking, one-click GSC, hourly GSC sync, index monitoring, backlink prospecting, trending topics, content quality checks, approve or full-auto, ships as PRs, MCP, managed schedules, and a 7-day free trial.
Growth is $40 per month annual, or $59 monthly, for 3 sites. The first two sites are free on your own GitHub account. After that, roughly $5 per site per month goes to GitHub. Scale is $69 per month annual, or $99 monthly, for 5 sites and priority support.
Self-hosting is free under AGPL-3.0 and has every feature. The paid cloud sells convenience: it runs the machine, bundles SERP and volume data into one bill, and replaces the Google service account ritual with one click. Annual billing is two months free versus monthly.
What DispatchSEO does not publish
The catalog entry is honest about the gaps. No published AI crawler log tracking. No citation analytics at page, Reddit, or YouTube level. No visitor conversions tied to AI-referred traffic. Automations run as GitHub Actions on your own GitHub account, so GitHub costs apply past two sites. Self-host needs Docker, a machine that stays awake, a free SerpApi key, and a DataForSEO account for volume data.
DispatchSEO drives your agent. It does not give your agent live visibility data to act on. That is the missing half.
Where Promptwatch fits
Promptwatch is the visibility layer DispatchSEO does not ship. Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther, and the Meta AI crawler, and maps each crawl to a citation. Prompt tracking carries search volumes, difficulty scores, and query fan-outs. Citation analytics goes to page, domain, Reddit, YouTube, and offsite. Visitor analytics ties AI referrers to conversions.
The Promptwatch MCP server is a hosted streamable HTTP server at https://server.promptwatch.com/mcp, with OAuth or Bearer key. Read tools like listPrompts, getVisibilityTimeSeries, getCitations, getCitationTopPages, listContentGapPrompts, getContentGapRecommendations, getCrawlerTrend, and getVisitorTrend give a coding agent live visibility data. Write tools like createContent, listContentSlots, acceptContentSlot, and publishContentLive close the publish loop to a connected CMS.
DispatchSEO drives your agent over MCP. Promptwatch gives that agent live visibility data to act on. They connect over MCP and pair cleanly. Essential is $95 per month. Professional is $245 per month with 25 million crawler logs. Explore is free with 10 ChatGPT prompts.
