GEO Monitor review (2026): a French daily tracker that stops at the report

GEO Monitor runs your prompts daily on five AI engines from €69/mo, with fan-out queries, cited pages and GA4. It measures well and leaves the fixing to you.

GEO Monitor is a French-language AI visibility tracker from VIDAL CORP, a micro-enterprise in Le Tignet in the Alpes-Maritimes. It runs your customers' questions every day on ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude and Google AI Overview, in the language and country of your market, and says it reads the engines' real interfaces. It is built for French SMEs and small agencies. The site and the app are in French.

On this site the first question is how much work a tool takes off your plate. GEO Monitor is a monitor. A good one for the money, with more data per prompt than most trackers at this price, but it does not tell you what to write next and it does not write or publish anything. Keep that in mind when you read the plan table.

What you get per plan

Prices were read on geo-monitor.fr/pricing on 20 October 2026. The page does not say whether they include VAT.

PlanPriceWhat it includes
Découverte€69/mo1 brand, 30 prompts a day, 3 engines of your choice including Google AI Overview, GA4 and Search Console, 6 months of history
Essentiel€149/moUnlimited brands, 30 prompts a day shared across them, all 5 engines, custom report
Pro€249/mo100 prompts a day, multi-user team with per-brand access, full API, priority support
Entreprise€499/mo or custom200 prompts a day or custom volume, dedicated support, onboarding, GEO consulting

The 7-day trial runs on Découverte and needs no card. There are no setup fees, and you can change or cancel the plan from the dashboard.

What works

The data per prompt is generous. For each answer you get the full text with your brand highlighted, its position and tone, the domains and the exact pages cited, and automatic competitor detection with share of voice and the prompts you lost to each rival. You also get query fan-out: the searches ChatGPT ran to build its answer. That one is useful because it shows which web queries you need to rank for before ChatGPT will pick you up.

It also tracks ChatGPT ads and shopping, product, map and local results. GA4 and Search Console connect on every plan, and Search Console feeds prompt suggestions. Daily runs on every plan add up to 365 analyses a year per prompt, so the trend lines rest on real volume.

Agencies get branded PDF reports with share links and monthly auto-send. Essentiel's unlimited brands at €149 a month make it cheap for a small agency to cover several clients. On Pro there is a documented REST API covering brands, prompts, visibility, answers, cited pages, fan-out queries, sponsored content and competitors.

What to check before paying

The 30-prompt pool on Découverte and Essentiel is shared across all brands. Unlimited brands on Essentiel therefore means 30 prompts split between them, which is thin once you have more than two clients. History is capped at six months on every plan, including Entreprise, so year-on-year comparisons are off the table. Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Grok are not listed. API access starts at €249 a month.

Then there is the vendor. The legal notice names a micro-enterprise with Vincent Vidal as publication director. A one-person business can run a good product, but ask about support capacity and what happens to your data if the business stops.

Where it falls short of a full AI visibility platform

Everything GEO Monitor shows happens in the answer. Nothing shows what happens on your own site before or after it. You cannot see whether GPTBot or ClaudeBot fetched the page you want cited, whether the fetch hit an error, or whether the AI-referred visitor bought anything. GA4 gives you sessions, but GA4 does not see crawlers.

And the work after the report is still yours. GEO Monitor shows you lost a prompt to a rival and which pages were cited instead. Deciding what to write, writing it and publishing it all happen outside the tool.

When Promptwatch is the better buy

Promptwatch covers the same daily answer data and then the two layers GEO Monitor leaves out. Agent Analytics reads AI crawler logs from your CDN (Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN or custom HTTP) with a crawl-to-citation path and error tracking. Visitor analytics ties AI-referred sessions to conversions. Citation analytics goes beyond pages and domains to Reddit threads, YouTube videos and offsite mentions. Ads Radar covers sponsored placements, and ChatGPT Shopping tracking covers product answers.

Then it acts. Content gap analysis finds the prompts you are losing, and Content Agents plan, write and publish the page to WordPress, Webflow or Framer, with a review inbox in front. That is the step GEO Monitor stops before.

Which plan? Professional at $245 a month is the comparison to make with GEO Monitor's Pro at €249: 2 projects, 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 1M visitor events, 25M crawler logs, 15 AEO articles, and state and city tracking on top of country. Agencies with several French clients should price the Kick-off plan at $199 a month, which has unlimited projects and prompts, 10 seats and 10M crawler logs. Prices are in US dollars and also offered in euros.

Verdict

GEO Monitor is a well-equipped French tracker for €69 to €249 a month: daily runs, five engines, fan-out queries, cited pages, ad tracking and GA4 in one dashboard. Six months of history, a shared prompt pool and a very small vendor are the trade-offs. If a report is all you need, it is good value. If you want to know whether AI bots read your pages and want the fixes written and published for you, Promptwatch Professional is the better buy.
