InSpace alternatives (2026): agents you can actually run
InSpace's NOVA costs $1,000 a month for 10 pages on a one-year minimum, and you never get to operate it. Five agentic alternatives you can switch on yourself, ranked, with Promptwatch first.
People looking for an InSpace alternative usually want the same promise without the same contract. NOVA is pitched as autonomous AI SEO software that picks pages, writes or rewrites them, publishes into your CMS and tracks the results. In practice InSpace operates it for you. Its plans run $1,000, $1,700 and $3,000 a month for 10, 20 and 40 pages, on a one-year term at minimum. There is no trial, and every plan button leads to a contact form.
We ranked the replacements by one test: can you run the agent yourself, and can you see whether its work landed? A tool that publishes but can't show you crawls, citations or clicks ranks lower than one that closes the loop.
The shortlist
| Rank | Tool | Lowest paid entry | Way to try it | What the agent does | AI crawler logs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Promptwatch | $95/mo Essential (Content Agent from $579 Business) | Free Explore plan; 7-day trial on monthly billing for Essential and Professional | Plans, writes and publishes GEO content, then measures it | Yes, from Professional |
| 2 | AthenaHQ | $295/mo Starter | Free tier with 300 credits | Turns visibility gaps into optimization tasks | No published crawler-log product |
| 3 | Okara | $129/mo AI CMO Lite | Free plan (analysis and strategy only) | Ships technical fixes as GitHub pull requests, writes articles | None published |
| 4 | Outrank | $99/mo for 30 articles | Trial articles carry a watermark | Writes and publishes articles on autopilot | None published |
| 5 | SEObot | $49/mo for 9 articles | Refund on the $49 plan after the first article | Plans, writes and publishes articles weekly | None published |
Every price above comes from our catalog entry for that tool. None of these vendors gives you a team of specialists the way InSpace does, so if the human layer is what you're buying, read the last section first.
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch is the closest thing to what NOVA claims to be, except you are the one running it. The automated Content Agent, on Business at $579 a month, plans, writes and publishes content against the visibility gaps your own tracking finds. You give it a publishing calendar, a monthly budget, publish windows and a cap per day. Drafts either wait in a review inbox or go out in hands-off mode behind a quality check. It publishes to WordPress, Webflow and Framer. For pages that already exist, Content Refresh suggests diff-style updates, which covers the rewrite work InSpace highlights.
What InSpace doesn't show, Promptwatch makes the core of the product. Agent Analytics records IP-verified visits from GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and other AI crawlers and follows each page from crawl to citation. Citation analytics breaks down which pages and domains the engines cite. Visitor analytics connects AI-referred sessions to conversions. Business includes 350 prompts, 42,000 responses, 10 AEO articles, 100M crawler logs and 10M visitor events, billed monthly, with annual billing optional at 12 months for the price of 10. A hosted MCP server and REST API let your own agents use the data.
Smaller budgets can start lower. Professional ($245) has 150 prompts, 5 AEO articles and 25M crawler logs, but not the scheduled Content Agent. Essential ($95) has no crawler logs at all. One caution for agencies: the agency plans don't include AEO articles or the Content Agent.
2. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ acts one step earlier than a publisher. Its Action Center turns visibility gaps into tasks you can assign, and Starter includes a content optimization agent. Starter costs $295 a month for 3,600 credits, where one credit is one AI response, across 11 models at country level. API access and extra credits are paid add-ons. There's a free tier with 300 credits to try it.
Compared with InSpace, you get a self-serve product at under a third of the entry price. The tradeoff is that your team still ships the pages, and there's no published crawler-log product to check whether bots fetched them.
3. Okara
Okara suits teams whose site lives in a Git repo. Its Coding Agent writes schema, llms.txt, canonicals and meta tags as real code and opens a pull request per batch, so nothing merges until you approve it. AI CMO Lite costs $129 a month (or $108 a month billed annually) and includes a minimum of 30 articles a month and 15 tracked AI search prompts. Pro at $249 unlocks every agent, including GEO, Reddit and LinkedIn.
That is real control, more than NOVA's month-one sign-off. Fifteen prompts is thin tracking, though, and Okara publishes no crawler logs, citation analytics or visitor conversions.
4. Outrank
Outrank is a content autopilot. For $99 a month it researches keywords, writes 30 articles and publishes them, with upgrades to 60 or 90. Integrations cover WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Framer, Wix, Notion, Ghost and Next.js, so a Shopify store moving off InSpace has a path. It also documents a REST API, webhooks and a CLI built for coding agents. There's no MCP server and no published AI visibility measurement.
5. SEObot
SEObot is the cheapest way in: $49 a month for 9 articles, $99 for 20, $199 for 50. It runs on full autopilot by default, with optional approve or moderate controls, and publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Shopify, HubSpot, Notion, Framer, Wix and Next.js. HubSpot users leaving InSpace will want to note that. There's no free trial, the refund applies only to the $49 plan, and like Outrank it publishes no prompt tracking or crawler data.
How to choose
If you want the loop InSpace describes and want to check it yourself, Promptwatch is the pick. Writing, publishing and the proof all live in one account, and the Business plan costs less per month than InSpace's smallest plan. If you only need volume and can live without measurement, Outrank or SEObot will cost a tenth of NOVA's entry plan or less. Okara fits engineers who want fixes as pull requests.
If what you really want is a human team, InSpace is not the only way to get one, and it is a hard one to recommend at $12,000 committed before the first result. Whatever you decide, put an independent tracker next to it. A Promptwatch workspace is the one we'd use to check anyone's work, including an agency's.
