Surva.ai review (2026): gap-driven articles and crawler logs from $49 a month

Surva.ai tracks five AI engines, finds the gaps and writes articles to fill them from $49/mo, with crawler logs from $119. Its own pages disagree on refresh and crawler setup.

Surva.ai is one of the cheaper tools we've reviewed that does something with what it finds. It runs your buyer prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, compares the results with your organic rankings, finds the keywords where competitors get cited and you don't, and writes articles to close those gaps. From the Growth plan it schedules and publishes them to WordPress or Webflow. On our monitor, recommend or execute scale, that puts it in the third group, at least for content.

It comes from Social Intents, LLC, the live-chat company, and plans also bundle Social Intents' Customer Voice survey and testimonial tools. The natural buyer is a small business or a small agency that wants AI and organic gaps in one view and some articles out of it, without enterprise pricing.

What each plan includes

Prices were read on surva.ai/pricing on 20 October 2026. All plans have a 7-day trial without a card.

All tiers track the same five engines. Starter includes unlimited competitors with five tracked in depth and an AI SEO audit of 75 pages. Business adds backlink intelligence, API access and Agency Mode, with white-label dashboards and unlimited client sub-accounts at no extra fee. Extra prompts cost $25 a month per 25 and extra brands $40 per 5.

What works

The gap view is the useful idea. Most trackers show AI mentions in one place and leave organic SEO to another tool. Surva puts your AI visibility score next to your page-one rankings and points at keywords where a competitor wins in both. The articles it generates target those gaps, so the content plan comes from the data rather than from a separate keyword brainstorm.

Crawler detection is server side, which is the right design. On Growth and Business you either upload Nginx or Apache access logs (up to 50 MB, gzip accepted) or deploy a Cloudflare Worker that identifies AI bots at the edge. Bots are matched against a user-agent database that Surva says refreshes hourly. Named bots include GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, GoogleOther and Meta-ExternalAgent. Reports break visits down by crawler, URL, status code and timestamp, with a separate crawler errors report.

A JavaScript snippet tracks human visitors arriving from AI answers on every plan, Starter included.

What to check before paying

Surva's own pages disagree on two things that matter.

The first is refresh. The homepage says prompts run every day. The pricing FAQ says every 3 days on Starter and every other day on Growth, with daily refresh reserved for Business. If you buy Starter for daily tracking, you won't get it.

The second is crawler setup. The crawler product page says JavaScript cannot see AI crawlers, which is correct, since bots don't run your scripts. The help docs then describe a JavaScript tracking script as the recommended option and log import as the fallback. Ask which method your plan uses before you rely on the numbers.

Smaller points: the documented crawler sources are log uploads and a Cloudflare Worker, and no other CDN is named on the pages we read. Conversion tracking on AI referrals isn't documented either. The comparison pages on Surva's site that rank it against other tools are vendor material.

Where it falls short against a full platform

Crawler counts tell you what a bot fetched. They don't tell you whether that fetch led to a citation, or whether the citation brought a visitor who bought something. Surva has the pieces (crawler logs, referral tracking, prompt results) but on the pages we read it doesn't connect them, and an uploaded log file is a snapshot rather than a live feed unless you run the Worker.

The article engine has the same open loop. Surva writes and publishes, then you wait for the next prompt run, which on Growth is every other day, to see whether anything moved.

When Promptwatch is the better buy

If you will only ever judge the content by whether mentions go up, Surva's Growth plan at $119 is good value: 30 articles a month is more volume than most tools give at that price.

If you need to show that the work paid off, Promptwatch Professional at $245 a month is the better buy. It refreshes 150 prompts daily, with search volumes, difficulty scores and query fan-outs. Agent Analytics takes crawler logs from Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN or a custom HTTP source, 25M a month on that plan, and traces the crawl to the citation. Visitor analytics, set up with a script or GTM template, ties AI-referred sessions to conversions. Content Agents run a gap analysis, draft through a review inbox and publish to WordPress, Webflow or Framer, 15 AEO articles a month on Professional. Teams that mainly want the tracking can start on Essential at $95.

Verdict

Surva.ai is a well-priced bundle that does real work: five engines, organic and AI gaps side by side, and articles to fill them. Its weak spots are internal contradictions on refresh and crawler setup, and a measurement layer that stops before conversions. Small teams that just need content output can start here. Teams that need to prove results should put Promptwatch on the shortlist first.

FAQ

Does Surva.ai publish to my CMS?

Yes, from Growth. Articles can be auto-scheduled and published to WordPress and Webflow. Starter generates 15 articles a month but doesn't include CMS publishing.

Does Surva.ai track AI crawlers?

On Growth and Business. You upload Nginx or Apache access logs or deploy a Cloudflare Worker. Starter has AI referral tracking for human visitors but no crawler logs.

How often does Surva.ai refresh prompts?

It depends on which page you read. The pricing FAQ says every 3 days on Starter, every other day on Growth and daily on Business; the homepage says daily. Promptwatch refreshes daily on every paid brand plan, listed on promptwatch.com.
