Tools to track which prompts mention my company: 2026 comparison

Which tools show the exact prompts where AI models mention your company, how they find prompts and what they cost. A ranked 2026 comparison with a buyer guide.

Most AI visibility tools work in one direction: you give them a list of prompts and they tell you whether your brand appeared. Your question runs the other way. You want to know which prompts mention your company, including the ones you never thought to write down. That is a harder problem, and it splits the tools into two camps. Some only test prompts you supply. Others help you discover prompts, estimate their demand and show how a prompt expands into the narrower searches a model actually runs.

Two jobs hiding in one question

Job one: check known prompts. You list the questions, the tool runs them daily, and you see mention rates, position and sentiment per prompt.

Job two: find unknown prompts. You want suggestions, volumes and a sense of which prompts matter. This needs prompt research data, not only a monitor.

A tool that does job one well and job two poorly will leave you tracking the questions you already guessed. Look for both.

The ranking

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch handles both jobs. For tracking, prompts carry topics, tags, prompt types (organic, brand, competitor comparison) and intent, and personas with persona stacking let you run one prompt as different buyers. Monitors run prompt panels daily per model, country and language, and every response is stored with mention, position and sentiment.

For discovery, Prompt Explorer suggests prompts from Search Console, ranking keywords, People Also Ask or any page you point it at. Prompt Volumes adds search volume, difficulty and citation rates across AI search, Google and Bing, and query fan-outs show the sub-searches each model runs per prompt. Prompt trends show how a prompt performs over time.

You can also work backward from the responses. The responses list shows the exact answers where your brand was named, filterable by model, country and prompt type, so you can see which prompts mention you and which mention a rival instead. Offsite mention reports show where your brand is named in third-party pages without a link.

Explore is free (10 prompts, 310 responses, ChatGPT only). Essential is $95 a month for 50 prompts and 6,000 responses, Professional $245 for 150 prompts and 18,000 responses, and Business $579 for 350 prompts and 42,000 responses. Agency plans, from $199, include unlimited prompts. Live-search monitoring covers ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity and Meta AI.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ supports unlimited topics and prompts on Starter ($295 a month), but each AI response consumes a credit, with 3,600 credits included across 11 models. Prompt volume is therefore bounded by credits, not by a prompt cap. An Action Center turns gaps into tasks.

3. Scrunch AI

Scrunch AI Core is $250 a month for 125 unique prompts and 5,000 responses on four LLMs, with site audits and bot traffic reporting. Wider engine coverage needs Enterprise.

4. Profound

Profound has a Prompt Volumes dataset of real query demand, which speaks directly to prompt discovery. It sits in an enterprise agent suite, with custom pricing earlier estimated near $40k a year, and a 7-day trial that runs 50 prompts daily.

5. SEO suite add-ons

Ahrefs Brand Radar offers Custom Prompts free on paid Ahrefs plans (a daily quota of 5, 10 or 20 prompts depending on plan) and an AI Visibility Index built from modeled prompts, from $199 a month. Semrush AI Toolkit offers keyword-to-prompt mapping, but its pricing could not be re-verified.

Simple trackers

Otterly.AI (Lite listed at $29 a month for 15 prompts) and Peec AI track the prompts you enter and report mentions. They are quick to start and light on prompt discovery.

Who should pick which

  • You want to discover and track in one place: Promptwatch.
  • You mostly need an action queue: AthenaHQ.
  • You want volume data inside an enterprise program: Profound.
  • You only need to check a short list of known prompts: a simple tracker will do.

One honest caveat

Prompt tracking shows what happens for the prompts you test. It cannot see every conversation people have with AI models, and answers vary by run and user. Treat the prompt set as a sample, expand it as you learn, and read the actual responses.
