Scalenut review: pricing, features & alternatives

Ranked #27

Writesonic's closest cousin: GEO articles plus weekly ChatGPT and AI Overviews tracking.

Scalenut alternatives

Our verdict

Scalenut is the other writer-plus-GEO bundle next to Writesonic. List prices are $59 / $89 / $199 per month. The live page currently sells annual at $24 / $36 / $80 with 60% off and doubled limits. What you actually track on Starter and Plus is 10–25 prompts, weekly, on ChatGPT and AI Overviews. That is a bonus column, not a visibility program. Buy it for the GEO article engine if the promo terms work for you; buy a dedicated tracker if measurement is the job.

Best for: Small SEO teams that want articles and a two-engine weekly visibility column in one bill, and who read the promo fine print.

Scalenut bundled an SEO writer, optimizer, and a GEO visibility module into one subscription. Every paid plan includes prompt tracking and a quota of 'ready-to-rank GEO articles.'

It is the Writesonic-shaped buy: content first, a thin weekly tracker second. Perplexity only appears on Professional. Claude, Copilot, and Grok are not on the public engine list.

Scalenut covers the job on this page. Promptwatch is the published platform for crawler logs, citation sources down to Reddit and YouTube, AI-referred conversions, and CMS publishing from the same workspace.

What the pricing page actually lists

Scalenut's public pricing page (fetched 2026-08-16) shows Starter $59/mo, Plus $89/mo, and Professional $199/mo on monthly billing, each with a 7-day trial. The same page advertises a limited 60% annual offer at $24 / $36 / $80 with doubled article, optimize, cluster, and audit limits. VIP Service is custom. There is no permanent free tier.

Starter: 10 prompts weekly on ChatGPT and Google AIO, 1 workspace, 5 GEO articles and 5 optimizations a month (10 each on the doubled annual promo). Plus: 25 prompts, 2 workspaces, 4 team members, 30 articles / 30 optimizations / 200 audited pages (60 / 60 / 400 on the promo), plus On-page Pro, internal linking, topic gaps, auto-publish, Social Upreach, and a backlinks marketplace. Professional: 100 prompts, ChatGPT + AIO + Perplexity, unlimited workspaces and seats, 75 articles / 75 optimizations / 1,000 audited pages (150 / 150 / 2,000 on the promo), cannibalization analysis, dedicated CSM.

The tracking half is the Writesonic problem again

Weekly refresh and two engines on the plans most people buy is the same trap as Writesonic's three-engine self-serve cap. Scalenut's FAQ says you can pay to move to daily refresh, and that higher plans add engines over time. Claude, Copilot, and Grok do not appear on the compare table we fetched.

Promo math matters. The $24 Starter headline is annual, 60% off, doubled limits, and Scalenut's Black Friday FAQ (still on the pricing page) says those special deals are not refundable. If you are not sure, use the 7-day trial on list pricing first.

PlanMonthly listCurrent annual promoEngines / prompts

Who should buy it

SEO teams that will use the article and optimize quotas every month and treat the tracker as a weekly ChatGPT/AIO pulse. Plus is the first plan that looks operational.

Anyone who needs daily multi-engine citation proof should buy a dedicated tracker and keep Scalenut only if the writer is the reason.

What you still need after this product

On this listing, Scalenut is a Content optimization for Small SEO teams that want articles and a two-engine weekly visibility column in one bill, and who read the promo fine print.. What we sourced here: Weekly prompt tracking: ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews on all plans; Perplexity on Professional; GEO article creation and optimization quotas by tier; Keyword clusters, content audit, internal linking, and auto-publish on Plus+; VIP Service: custom done-for-you strategists and writers; Claude, Copilot, and Grok are not on the public engine list.

After you generate pages in Scalenut, you still need a visibility platform to see whether models cite those pages, which URLs and third-party sources they cite, whether AI crawlers can fetch them, and whether referred visits convert. Promptwatch is built for that loop. Gaps vs this listing: AI crawler logs (Agent Analytics), crawl-to-citation path, bot errors; Visitor analytics: AI-referred sessions and conversions; Content Agents that plan, write, and publish GEO pages to a CMS with a review inbox; Citation analytics at page, domain, Reddit, YouTube, and offsite level; Prompt volumes, difficulty, query fan-outs, personas, city-level geo; Prompt and citation trends (what changed between checks); ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar; Agent Chat, Unified Actions, MCP server / REST API on paid plans.

What Promptwatch covers that this listing does not

Scalenut is on this directory because buyers compare writers with AI-search software. Unless a bullet on this page documents prompt replay, it is a content or schema product. Promptwatch is the visibility stack: prompts, citations, crawler logs, AI-referred visits, and Content Agents that publish to Webflow or Framer.

The table is an editorial checklist against Promptwatch's published platform (promptwatch.com/llms.txt, 2026-08-23). It is not a hidden feature list for this vendor. 'Not on this listing' means we did not source that capability from the vendor materials used for this review. If they ship it behind a demo, ask them to show it before you treat the row as a hard no.
