Adaptify vs Writesonic GEO (2026): Per-Site Retainer or Per-Article Plan?
Adaptify charges $499 per site for unlimited content, publishing and backlinks. Writesonic GEO meters articles and prompts from $79/mo billed annually. Which one does more after the report.
Adaptify and Writesonic GEO both write content and both track AI answers, so buyers set them side by side. Their pricing models say a lot about what each company expects you to do. Adaptify charges a flat fee per website with no credits, then writes, publishes and builds links for you. Writesonic meters everything: articles, prompts and site audits by tier, with you doing the publishing.
You're deciding how much content you need and who puts it live. We also ask whether you can prove it worked, and for that we hold both up against Promptwatch.

Writesonic GEO: lots of drafts, shallow data
Writesonic started as an AI writer and layered GEO on top. Every self-serve tier includes Brand Presence, Topic Explorer, sentiment and prompt volume data, and the GEO Writer produces drafts meant to be cited. On article count per dollar it beats both rivals here: 15 a month on the $79 Starter plan (billed annually), 50 on Growth. There's a free trial, and the G2 average is 4.7.
The limits are worth reading slowly. Self-serve plans track three engines; Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Grok and AI Mode all need Enterprise. The Action Center, the piece that turns findings into tasks, is Enterprise only as well. Reviewers describe the visibility data as surface level: it tells you that you appeared in an answer, not why, and not which page earned the citation. Prompt allowances of 50 to 200 run out quickly on a real portfolio, and Basic at $199 still has email-only support. Trustpilot and Reddit also carry a recurring pattern of charged-after-cancelling complaints, so pay monthly at first and note the renewal date.
Adaptify: fewer decisions, higher floor
Adaptify is built for agencies that want the platform to do the work. You don't count articles; content generation is unlimited under a fair use policy. You don't publish either, because it pushes articles straight to six CMSs. Missed prompts are scored and turned into articles automatically, and the next run checks whether the brand now appears. PR backlinks (1 to 20 a month), technical SEO, local SEO and unlimited seats come in the same per-site fee, and Multi-Site adds a white-label client portal.
The floor is high, though. At $499 a month for one site, a small in-house team pays for production it may not use. Visibility is re-checked only every 14 days, and with no published prompt count per site, the measurement side is hard to size before you buy. That imbalance is why Adaptify sits in our agentic SEO automation group rather than among the visibility platforms.
Head to head
Adaptify tracks five engines at self-serve prices against Writesonic's three. Writesonic shows prompt volumes and Adaptify doesn't. On output, it depends on who does the last step. Writesonic gives a small team more drafts per dollar, but someone still has to edit and publish them. Adaptify publishes for you and adds links, at a price that only makes sense when a site needs volume.
A small team on a budget that's comfortable editing AI drafts should look at Writesonic. An agency that wants hands-off publishing across client sites should look at Adaptify. Neither will show you whether ChatGPTBot ever fetched the article, or whether AI-referred visitors converted.
Where Promptwatch fits
The question both tools leave open is which page earned the citation and what it did for the business. Promptwatch answers it directly. Citation analytics work at page and domain level, with separate Reddit and YouTube views, and Citation trends show whether a page's citations are growing or fading over time. Agent Analytics logs AI crawler hits from CDN integrations such as Cloudflare, Fastly and Netlify. Visitor analytics ties AI-referred sessions to conversions. Content Agents handle production, writing from a content gap analysis and publishing to Webflow or Framer after a review inbox.
The price ladder lines up closely with Writesonic's monthly rates. Essential is $95 against Writesonic Starter's $99 monthly, and it tracks all of Promptwatch's engines rather than three. Professional is $245 against Basic's $249 monthly, and adds 25M crawler logs. Promptwatch writes fewer articles per tier than Writesonic, and it doesn't do backlinks or WordPress publishing yet, which is where Adaptify keeps an edge.
Verdict
Writesonic GEO suits a budget team that mostly wants drafts. Adaptify suits an agency that wants publishing and links handled per site. If the purpose of buying is to grow AI visibility and prove it, start with Promptwatch: more engines than Writesonic's self-serve plans, daily data instead of Adaptify's 14-day cycle, and crawler logs and conversions that neither offers.
