AI Search Visibility for Ecommerce Brands: GEO and AEO Tool Reviews
Short reviews of eight GEO and AEO tools for online stores, each with a verdict and a concrete list of what to test during the trial before you commit a budget.
Store owners don't need another feature grid. They need to know what to check in the seven or fourteen days before the card gets charged. So each review below ends with a verdict and a short trial script: the tests that tell you whether the tool will close the loop for a catalog (see where your products show up in AI answers, work out why, change something, confirm it moved) or just give you a new dashboard to ignore.
If you'd rather see the category split by what each tool acts on (SKU feeds, Shopify pages, content URLs, templates), our earlier ecommerce GEO and AEO guide covers that. This piece is the hands-on companion.
Before any trial: build your test kit
Write down 20 to 40 prompts a shopper would type, mixed across category questions ("best trail running shoes for wide feet"), comparisons with your main rivals, and a few branded ones. Pick 10 to 20 hero products. Note your current Shopify or analytics numbers for AI referrals, even if they're near zero. Use the same kit in every trial, or the comparison is meaningless.
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch monitors the real interfaces of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, and Copilot, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. For stores, two features matter most. ChatGPT Shopping tracking shows whether your products appear in ChatGPT's shopping results, and Ads Radar shows which competitors run sponsored placements on your prompts. Both start at Professional ($245/mo) and are on the agency plans. Essential ($95/mo) does not include them.
Visitor analytics (script or GTM template) attributes AI-referred sessions to conversions on every brand plan from Essential up. Agent Analytics crawler logs, from Professional up, show whether ChatGPTBot or PerplexityBot actually fetch your product and collection pages. Content Agents publish buying guides to Webflow or Framer; WordPress is listed as coming soon, and Shopify isn't a listed target, so most stores will use the gap analysis and write the guides themselves.
Verdict: the most complete measurement stack for a store, and the only one here that joins shopping visibility, sponsored placements, crawl data, and conversions. Budget for Professional, not Essential.
What to test:
- Load your prompt kit and check which hero products ChatGPT Shopping returns, and for which prompts a rival is advertising.
- Install the GTM template and confirm AI-referred orders show up against the engine that sent them.
- In crawler logs, check that your top collection pages get fetched without errors.
The listed 7-day trial is on Essential, which lacks Shopping and crawler logs, so plan a first paid month on Professional for the real test.
2. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ tracks visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, and AI Overviews, and lists GA4, Shopify, and Webflow revenue attribution. The Action Center turns findings into tasks like schema generation and content reformatting. Starter is $295/mo ($245 annual), credit-based, and limited to one country.
Verdict: a strong act step with Shopify revenue in view. Multi-country stores will hit the Enterprise wall quickly.
What to test: use the free tier (about 300 credits) on your prompt kit and watch how fast credits drain, since our listing records reviewers burning a month's credits in the first week. Check that Shopify-attributed revenue matches your own Shopify reports.
3. Wildcard
Wildcard is built for catalogs. It tracks prompts at the SKU and collection level across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude, Walmart Sparky, and Alexa+ Shopping, with Amazon Rufus in beta. Catalog sync covers Shopify, BigCommerce, Salesforce, or a PIM. Actions include PDP optimization, collection pages, and schema enrichment, published to Shopify. Revenue attribution reports AI referral sessions, add-to-carts, checkouts, and revenue by platform. Basic is $99/mo for 10 actions, 50 prompts, 20 products, and weekly refresh.
Verdict: the best act step for a Shopify catalog. Weekly data on Basic and no crawler logs keep it below the top two.
What to test: sync your 20 hero products, spend the 10 actions on the PDPs with the weakest visibility, and see whether the next weekly refresh shows movement.
4. Ranketta
Ranketta works on product data. Store Tracker (€29/mo) covers 2 models, 30 prompts per model, one country, daily refresh, and MCP, with a 7-day trial. Product data enrichment starts on Store Starter at €79/mo, and Agent Mode sits on Agency Starter at €299/mo. Feed destinations include Amazon, Google Merchant, Heureka, and Zboží.cz. Its content studio requires human approval before publishing.
Verdict: the right pick when your problem is thin product data spread across marketplaces. Know that the cheap tier is tracking only.
What to test: run Store Tracker on your kit for the trial week, then decide whether enrichment justifies Starter.
5. Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI serves AI-optimized versions of your pages to crawlers through its Agent Experience Platform without changing the storefront shoppers see. That can help when theme changes are slow. Starter is $250/mo annual ($300 monthly). Our listing flags weekly refresh and weak reporting.
Verdict: an interesting lever for stores locked into a rigid theme. Ask to see it running on your platform before signing.
6. Profound
Profound is sold as marketing agents across AEO, content, demand, and PR. Starter ($99/mo annual) is ChatGPT only with 50 prompts. Growth ($399/mo annual) covers three engines and comes with a 7-day trial. Enterprise starts around $40k a year.
Verdict: an enterprise marketing program, not a store tool. Use the Growth trial to confirm which three engines you get.
7. Seology
Seology audits Shopify and other platforms with 200+ checks and auto-fixes meta tags, canonicals, alt text, schema, and hreflang, in Monitor, Co-pilot, or Autopilot mode. Starter is free for one site; Pro is $49/mo for five sites with daily scans.
Verdict: cheap technical hygiene for product templates. It doesn't measure whether AI engines mention you, so pair it with a tracker. Start in Monitor mode.
8. Attrifast
Attrifast joins AI-referred sessions to Shopify and Stripe revenue from $9.99/mo, with a 7-day trial that requires a card. Prompt tracking is minimal.
Verdict: a cheap verification layer, not a visibility program.
We left mention-only trackers out of this list. A store needs a tool that can explain or change a result, and they don't.
Where we land
For most stores, the loop runs best with Promptwatch Professional as the measurement core (ChatGPT Shopping tracking, Ads Radar, visitor analytics tied to orders, and crawler logs) and a catalog tool like Wildcard or Ranketta for product-level fixes. Run the trial scripts above with the same prompt kit and compare the results side by side before you pay for a second month of anything. Plans are on promptwatch.com, and the full field is in our directory.
