Profound vs Promptwatch: features, pricing and which AI visibility platform fits
Profound vs Promptwatch compared on engines, pricing, crawler logs, attribution and content, with a verdict on which AI visibility platform fits which buyer.
Profound and Promptwatch both track how AI engines talk about a brand, and that is where the similarity ends. Profound has become an enterprise suite of marketing agents with an AI-search tracker inside. Promptwatch is a dedicated AI visibility platform built around a loop: monitor, diagnose, produce, measure. Which fits depends on whether you are buying a marketing agent platform or a measurement and optimization platform for AI search.
The short verdict
For most teams buying specifically for AI search visibility, Promptwatch is the better fit. It is the more complete AI-search platform, it publishes its pricing, and it includes crawler logs and AI-referred conversion tracking that Profound's public materials do not describe. Profound is worth a look if you are an enterprise buyer who wants agents for content, demand and PR across marketing, and you are happy to buy through sales.
What each one is
Profound started as an AI answer tracker and now sells itself as an AI Marketer, with agents for research, content, reporting and workflows, alongside Answer Engine Insights and Agent Analytics. Its pricing page answers "Is Profound only for AI search?" with a plain no.
Promptwatch is an AI search visibility and GEO platform that pairs multi-engine monitoring with citation analytics, AI crawler logs, visitor analytics and content generation. It describes itself as agentic: agents that monitor, optimize and publish content, not just report data.
Pricing
Pricing was read on 24 October 2026 for Profound. The public page lists a free Trial and a custom Enterprise plan. The Trial runs 50 prompts daily for seven days across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with limited agent credits. Enterprise is custom, tracks up to nine answer engines and adds dedicated support, SSO and SOC 2, with agents running on credits. An earlier estimate put Enterprise near $40k a year, which is not on the current page. The page mentions a self-serve Agency Growth plan with 400 credits a month per client workspace but shows no price.
Promptwatch publishes prices. Explore is free (1 project, 10 prompts, ChatGPT only). Essential is $95 a month, Professional $245 and Business $579. Agency self-serve plans are Kick-off $199, Growth $399 and Scale $799 a month. A seven-day free trial applies on monthly billing for Essential, Professional and the agency Kick-off and Growth plans. Enterprise is custom.

Profound's prompt volumes data is a real strength, and so is its engine reach on Enterprise. Profound is listed at 4.6 out of 5 on G2 in our catalog. Promptwatch is rated 4.7 out of 5 on G2, and Essential and Professional customers who leave a review earn extra Agent Credits, so read that rating with the incentive in mind.
Where Profound has the edge
Profound suits enterprises that want one vendor for agents spanning content, demand and PR, with SSO and SOC 2 on the contract. Prompt Volumes is a distinct intelligence source. Reviewers, though, report setup realistically taking one to three months with a dedicated owner, and G2 reviewers report citation counts that do not match manual ChatGPT checks. Annual billing and a short trial add friction.
Where Promptwatch has the edge
Promptwatch covers layers Profound's public listing does not. IP-verified crawler logs show whether GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot can reach your pages. Visitor analytics connects AI-referred sessions to conversions. The Action Board and Agent Chat help your team work from the data, and the Content Agent on Business and Enterprise plans, writes and publishes to WordPress, Webflow and Framer with a review inbox. It is also ISO/IEC 27001 certified and GDPR compliant.
Plan caveats: crawler logs start on Professional at $245 a month, and agency plans do not include the Content Agent.
Who should pick which
Pick Promptwatch if you want the end-to-end AI search platform, published pricing and a trial you can run this week. Pick Profound if you are an enterprise buying marketing agents broadly and want a sales-led contract. If you are comparing a wider set, AthenaHQ and Scrunch AI are the other dedicated AI-search platforms we rank above Profound.
A fair test
Run the same ten prompts in both trials. Compare the engines covered, the sources shown and what each tells you to do next. Check one result by hand. The platform whose data you can trace, and that connects to your traffic, is the one to keep.
