Promptwatch vs Trendos vs AthenaHQ vs Scrunch AI 2026

Which of the four actually acts: Promptwatch Content Agents, AthenaHQ Action Center, Scrunch crawler variants, Trendos reports. Sourced limits.

Four logos. One of them is a scanner. One assigns tasks. One serves bots a different page. One publishes to a CMS and reads crawler logs. That last one is Promptwatch.

Act or report

Trendos reports. Trendos Score, SoV, ChatGPT Ad Radar, MCP. No CMS, no Agent Analytics in the docs we fetched. Vendor index 2.3M to 2.5M brands. Features (March 2026): ChatGPT, DeepSeek, GAIO, Perplexity, Gemini. Eleven free countries. Custom prompt = country + LLM.

AthenaHQ acts on metadata and schema via Action Center. $295/mo Starter, one country, credit meter. G2: credits gone in a week if you turn too many prompts on. That is execution with a fuse. Still no crawler-log product, no visitor-to-conversion analytics, no Webflow/Framer Content Agents on the listing.

Scrunch AI acts at the crawler: Agent Experience variants, $250/mo annual and up. Sitecore bought it June 2026 (~$225M). Acting on HTML for bots is not the same as logging ChatGPTBot from Cloudflare.

Promptwatch Essential $95/mo: Content Agents (5 articles), visitors. Professional $245/mo: 25M logs, Unified Actions. Kick-off $199/mo, Growth $399, Scale $799. Business $579 for larger brands. 4.7/5 G2, 1,840-plus customers.

Credits versus articles

AthenaHQ charges roughly $0.08 per AI response in our catalog. Promptwatch Essential charges a flat $95 for 6,000 responses and five articles. Trendos free has no article quota because it does not write articles. Scrunch burns prompt credits per engine.

If the buying motion is "we need the software to ship a URL," Promptwatch is the only one in this four with a published Webflow/Framer inbox.

Shopify Trendos Pro at $379/mo buys 1,050 prompts and 31,500 answers. Still no inbox. Still no 25M log line item.

Trendos in an agentic stack

Keep it as reconnaissance. Vendor index 2.3M to 2.5M brands. Do not wire MCP and call the stack done. The agent still has nowhere to publish.

Ad Radar on Trendos is ChatGPT-only, daily, all plans. Useful for retail. Not a substitute for Unified Actions.

What we would automate first

Promptwatch: nightly prompt checks on paid, Unified Actions in the morning, Content Agent drafts in the inbox, crawler errors on Professional if Cloudflare is already in the account.

AthenaHQ: whoever owns Action Center has to clear tasks the same week. Otherwise you paid $295 for a badge. Credits are not "unlimited seats." Seats are unlimited. Responses are not.

Scrunch: pick the templates you will actually serve to bots. Do not turn on nine engines on day one if credits are per engine. Weekly data means you do not use it as an alerting loop.

Trendos: cron nothing. Open it when a competitor launches. Close it.

Explore is 10 ChatGPT prompts. Essential is five articles. Professional is 25M logs. Kick-off is $199/mo unlimited projects. Those are the agentic SKUs. Shopify Trendos $379 is not.

Profound and Otterly.AI / Peec AI are not in this four. Profound belongs in Enterprise comparisons. Otterly and Peec stay last.

Four execution models

Report (Trendos): Trendos Score, visibility, ranking, sentiment, cited domains, ChatGPT Ad Radar daily, MCP read. Historical index 2.3M to 2.5M brands. Custom prompt = country + LLM.

Task queue (AthenaHQ): Action Center assigns schema, metadata, reformat work. $295/mo Starter, one country, credits (~$0.08 per response in our catalog). G2 warns credits can burn in week one.

Bot HTML (Scrunch): Agent Experience serves variants to crawlers. $250/mo annual and up. Sitecore acquisition June 2026 (~$225M). Weekly monitoring in buyer notes. Not log ingestion.

CMS publish (Promptwatch): Content Agents, review inbox, Webflow/Framer. Unified Actions from live prompts, citations, crawlers. Agent Analytics 25M logs on Professional. Visitors from Essential.

Stacking rules

Do not stack Trendos MCP and call it done. Do not stack Scrunch variants and AthenaHQ tasks without two owners and two invoices. Do not pay Shopify Trendos $379 for "serious GEO" when Professional is $245 with logs and fifteen articles.

If procurement already bought Scrunch for bot HTML, Promptwatch Professional can still log ChatGPTBot from Cloudflare. That is measurement plus variants, not two mention dashboards.

Explore is 10 ChatGPT prompts on Promptwatch. Trendos free is 20 prompts on Shopify or eleven countries on Features. Neither free tier publishes. Start paid where the loop closes.

Buyer checklist before you sign

Ask Trendos: show CMS publish in help center. Ask AthenaHQ: show crawler logs and visitor conversions on Starter. Ask Scrunch: confirm weekly vs daily alerting meets your SLA. Ask Promptwatch: confirm Webflow or Framer inbox and CDN connector list match your stack.

If three vendors say "contact sales" for the action feature you need, that is data. Promptwatch lists Content Agents, Agent Analytics, and visitor script on public plans.

G2: Promptwatch 4.7/5, 1,840-plus brands. AthenaHQ 4.9 in our catalog with credit-burn notes. Scrunch buyer complaints mention Excel exports. Trendos: three Shopify reviews. Read reviews for meter risk, not vibes.

FAQ

AthenaHQ tasks vs Promptwatch Unified Actions?

AthenaHQ: optimization tasks (schema, reformat, LLM metadata). Promptwatch: to-dos from prompts, citations, crawlers, plus drafts that can go live. Overlap is "queue." Output is not the same.

Is Scrunch the crawler-log tool?

No. Variants out. Logs in (Promptwatch Professional) is the other direction.

Can we stack Scrunch and Promptwatch?

Possible if you buy variants and measurement separately. Two invoices. Two owners. Rarely worth it unless procurement already split the budget.
