Top AI traffic analytics tools in 2026: ranked and compared

The top AI traffic analytics tools in 2026, ranked: Promptwatch, AthenaHQ, Attrifast, Amplitude, Known Agents and Similarweb, with sourced pricing and who each suits.

Two different things hide under the phrase "AI traffic analytics." One is visitors: real people who clicked through from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or another assistant and landed on your site. The other is bots: crawlers such as GPTBot or PerplexityBot fetching your pages. Good decisions need both, and few tools handle both well.

This ranking covers tools that measure AI-driven traffic in some form. We favor tools that tie traffic to conversions, because "ChatGPT sent us 300 visits" is a trivia fact until you know whether those visits bought anything.

What to look for

  • Referral detection: can it separate sessions from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Copilot without relying on a single referrer string?
  • Conversion tie-in: can you see goals, revenue or signups by AI source?
  • Page-level view: which landing pages do AI visitors reach?
  • Crawler data: which bots fetch which pages, and do those pages get cited?
  • Connection to visibility: can you link traffic back to the prompts and citations that caused it?

Standard web analytics catches some AI referrals but misses others, since many assistants pass little or no referrer. That is the gap these tools fill.

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch treats traffic as one stage in a chain. Visitor analytics record AI-referred traffic and conversions from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, DeepSeek, Kimi, Mistral and more, through a lightweight script, a Google Tag Manager template or the WordPress plugin.

What lifts it above the rest is what sits around that data. Agent Analytics reads IP-verified crawler logs. Citation analytics show which pages and domains engines cite. The 360 Insights view joins crawler logs, citation clicks and AI-referred visits per page, so you can see which pages are fetched, cited and visited, and which are only one of those. Search Insights adds Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster data, including Microsoft Copilot traffic, on top of AI crawls and citations.

One published example, attributed to the customer: Crisp reported that AI-referred traffic converted at twice the rate of traditional channels. That is Crisp's result, not a promise for any other site.

Plan notes: Essential ($95/mo) includes 200K visitor events, Professional ($245/mo) 1M, Business ($579/mo) 10M. Agency plans start at 500K events on Kick-off ($199/mo). Crawler logs start on Professional.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ's entry lists GA4, Shopify and Webflow revenue attribution beside an eight-engine GEO score and an Action Center. Starter is $295/mo, with a free tier of 300 credits. Our catalog notes it does not publish crawler analytics or AI-referrer-to-conversion visitor analytics at Promptwatch's depth, and credit use can be unpredictable. A fit for ecommerce teams who want revenue next to visibility.

3. Attrifast

Attrifast joins first-party sessions to real Stripe and Shopify payments and splits ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot into their own revenue lines. It adds AI crawler tracking and AI landing page reporting. Starter is $9.99/mo (1 website, 50,000 events) and Pro is $49/mo (3 websites, 100,000 events). It is cookieless and sets up with one script tag. The visibility module is shallow on Starter, with 10 prompts scanned every 30 days. Think of it as a revenue attribution tool with a visibility sidecar.

4. Amplitude AI Visibility

Inside Amplitude, AI-referred visitors can be segmented in analytics, watched in Session Replay and tested with experiments. It is included on every plan, including Free, which is attractive if you already use Amplitude. The limit is coverage: its FAQ says it tracks ChatGPT and Google AI Overview only, and prompt capacity is not published.

5. Known Agents

Formerly Dark Visitors, it offers Agent Analytics for crawlers, AI chat referral tracking, an auto-updating robots.txt and an identification API. Plans run Free (100K events a month), $29/mo (1M events) and $299/mo (10M events). Citation counts are estimates inferred from agent fetches, and it does not run prompts, so it cannot show what AI says about you.

6. Similarweb

Similarweb's Gen AI suite covers AI traffic trends, AI brand visibility and top landing pages across the market. It publishes no prices and the AI suite sits on custom packages. The catalog warns its estimates for smaller sites can run far from your own analytics and are described by Similarweb as directional. Use it for market context, not for your own conversion numbers.

Where your own analytics fit

GA4 and similar tools do count AI referrals when the assistant passes a referrer. The gap is traffic that arrives without one, and the lack of any link back to prompts, citations and crawling. Treat your analytics package as the baseline and a dedicated tool as the explanation.

Who should pick which

  • Want traffic, crawlers and citations in one view: Promptwatch.
  • Run an online store and care about revenue per AI source first: Attrifast or AthenaHQ.
  • Already on Amplitude: switch on AI Visibility and compare.
  • Need only bot data on a budget: Known Agents or your CDN's dashboard.
  • Need market-wide trends: Similarweb.

No analytics tool can promise growth in AI traffic. It can show which pages earn it and which ones do not.
