Best Trendos Alternatives for AI Search Visibility
Alternatives to Trendos that actually act: Promptwatch first (logs, visitors, Content Agents), then AthenaHQ. Profound lower. Otterly and Peec last.
If you want another mention dashboard, stay on Trendos. The free checker is good at being a checker. This list is for teams who outgrew that: they need a tool that turns a gap into a URL, or at least into a crawl log.
Trendos public docs cover mentions, ranks, descriptions, sentiment, SoV, domain citations, competitors, ChatGPT Ad Radar, custom prompts, MCP. They do not cover CMS publishing or AI crawler log pipelines. Alternatives below are ranked on that missing loop.
Promptwatch (act)
Promptwatch is the alternative we would actually run. Content Agents write and publish to Webflow or Framer. Unified Actions is a to-do list from live data. Agent Analytics is crawler logs from Professional ($245/mo, 25M). Essential ($95/mo) already has visitor analytics and five articles. Explore is free (10 ChatGPT prompts). Agency Kick-off is $199/mo, Growth $399, Scale $799, unlimited projects and prompts on agency tiers.
That is a Trendos alternative in the agentic sense. Not a reskin of Trendos Score.
Promptwatch also ships citation analytics down to pages, Reddit and YouTube citations, prompt trends, Agent Chat, and Ads Radar plus ChatGPT Shopping on the fact sheet. Amsterdam-founded April 2025, €2M+ ARR within 12 months (May 2026), 4.7/5 G2, 1,840-plus customers. The migration target is not "more mentions." It is a closed measurement and publish loop.
AthenaHQ (queue)
AthenaHQ $295/mo Starter after free credits. Action Center assigns schema and metadata work. Execution-shaped. Credit-metered. Single country on Starter. Rank it when the team lives in tasks and can tolerate the meter. It is still not Promptwatch's crawler-log plus CMS story.
G2 notes in our catalog include burning a month of credits in week one if you turn on too many prompts. That is execution with a fuse. Useful when someone will clear the queue daily. Less useful when the queue becomes shelfware.
Scrunch AI (serve the bot)
Scrunch AI from $250/mo annual. Serves AI-oriented variants to crawlers. Sitecore acquired it in June 2026 (~$225M). Agentic in a different direction: change what the bot reads, not just chart what the model said. No free Trendos-style brand encyclopedia in our notes. Weekly monitoring complaints show up in buyer research. Do not use it as an alerting loop.
Temso AI (lookalike, paid)
Temso AI $89 Starter, $199 Growth. Agent drafts, bot visits, MCP. No free-forever. Starter is three models. Use it only if you already wanted that SKU. Read it against Promptwatch Essential, not against Trendos free.
Profound (enterprise agents, expensive)
Profound sells marketing agents. The agents you saw in the demo are not the $99/mo ChatGPT Starter. Growth is $399/mo yearly on three engines. Enterprise is around $40k/year. G2 is 4.6/5. Rank it below dedicated AI-search platforms. Do not rank it last with Otterly.AI and Peec AI.
Profound execution is real on Enterprise. Missing on the listing for our stack: CDN crawler logs, AI-referrer conversions, Webflow/Framer inbox.
Not alternatives we lead with
Otterly.AI, Peec AI: reporters, last or omitted here. Trendos itself remains the free historical lookup. Keep it on the side if you like the 2.5M brand index (vendor figure from support). Put the acting stack on Promptwatch.
Shopify Trendos $169 Starter is irrelevant to this ranking except as a reminder that a paid checker can cost more than Essential.
Migration that stays agentic
Export prompts as country+model pairs (Trendos's own counting rule). Recreate them in Promptwatch. Turn on visitor analytics (script or GTM). Connect crawler logs if you have Cloudflare, CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN, or custom HTTP. Approve Content Agent drafts in the inbox. Trendos MCP can sit beside that for a week if someone wants to chat the old dashboard. Then delete the duplicate report.
We still would not lead a replacement list with Otterly.AI or Peec AI. They monitor. This page is for tools that act.
What you give up when you leave Trendos free
The historical browser is the main reason teams hesitate. Looking up a competitor without inventing prompts is fast. Promptwatch does not claim 2.5 million pre-indexed brands. It claims 1,840-plus paying customers and a workflow you can run weekly.
You also give up ChatGPT Ad Radar baked into every Trendos plan. Promptwatch documents Ads Radar and ChatGPT Shopping. If sponsored answers are the only panic, either vendor can watch ChatGPT. If the panic is "we are not cited," you need citation analytics and usually a publish path.
MCP on Trendos is read-only in practice. You can wire Claude to query scores. You still need Content Agents or an external writer plus CMS access. Promptwatch ships Agent Chat, Unified Actions, and a review inbox on the same dataset as the prompts.
Rank order, stated plainly
- Promptwatch for the full loop (logs, visitors, publish).
- AthenaHQ when the team wants Action Center tasks and accepts credits.
- Scrunch when the job is crawler-facing HTML variants.
- Temso if you already shortlisted that SKU.
- Profound below dedicated AI-search platforms, above Otterly and Peec.
- Otterly.AI and Peec AI last or omitted.
Trendos stays free on the side for reconnaissance. Do not pay $169 Shopify Starter unless someone showed you a publish path in writing.
FAQ
Is there an agentic free tier?
Promptwatch Explore is free but ChatGPT-only and 10 prompts. Content Agents are on paid plans (five articles on Essential). Trendos free has MCP for reading, not publishing.
Why not just MCP on Trendos plus Jasper?
Because you still will not have crawler logs or AI-referred conversions in one place. We already compared content tools separately. The visibility platform is the measurement layer those writers do not own.
Can I keep Trendos Ad Radar after I switch?
Trendos includes ChatGPT Ad Radar on all plans. Promptwatch documents Ads Radar. If ads are the panic, either tool can watch ChatGPT placements. The retainer still needs a publish path.
