What AI visibility tools do fintech companies use?

Which AI visibility tools fintech marketing teams actually evaluate, what they need to track, and how the platforms compare on pricing, depth and security.

Fintech is a hard category for AI search. Buyers ask assistants which payment provider, neobank, trading app or lending platform to trust, and the answers carry real weight. At the same time the sector is full of regulatory language, comparison sites and forum chatter, all of which engines read and repeat. Fintech marketing teams therefore want to see what is being said about them, where it comes from, and whether anyone clicks.

We will say up front what we can and cannot document. Our catalog does not contain fintech-specific case studies from the tool vendors, so we are not going to claim that any particular fintech uses any particular tool, except where a vendor has named customers publicly. What we can do is explain what fintech teams tend to need and which tools meet those needs.

What fintech teams need

Comparison and trust prompts. "Best business bank account for freelancers", "is [brand] safe", "[brand] vs [competitor] fees", "which app is best for investing with small amounts". Buyers ask about fees, safety and alternatives.

Source analysis. Engines cite review sites, comparison pages, Reddit threads and news. For fintech, Reddit and review platforms often dominate.

Sentiment. What engines say about a brand matters as much as whether they name it.

Security posture. Procurement teams ask about certifications. Among tools in this directory, Promptwatch states ISO/IEC 27001 certification and GDPR compliance. Profound's pricing page mentions SOC 2 for Enterprise. We did not verify certifications for others.

Attribution. Sign-ups from AI-referred visits are the point.

The tools

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch is the platform most fintech teams should evaluate first. It tracks Visibility Score, Share of Voice, Sentiment and Position in Answer across real interfaces for ChatGPT (Search), Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity, Alexa and Meta AI, plus Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral and Grok via API.

For fintech specifically: citation analytics includes Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn reports and offsite mentions, so you can see which forums and review sites shape answers. Agent Analytics logs IP-verified AI crawler requests. Visitor analytics counts AI-referred visits and conversions. Customers named by Promptwatch include Bitvavo, Polymarket, Rabobank and ABN AMRO, as listed in its own materials. It is ISO/IEC 27001 certified and GDPR compliant.

Pricing: Explore is free (ChatGPT only, 10 prompts), Essential $95 a month, Professional $245, Business $579, and agency plans from $199. Enterprise adds SSO and audit logs.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ is built by former Google Search and DeepMind engineers and turns gaps into actions through an Action Center. Starter is $295 a month with 3,600 credits, and Enterprise adds SSO, an audit log and multi-language support.

3. Scrunch AI

Scrunch AI offers monitoring, site audits and bot traffic reporting, with Core at $250 a month and Enterprise adding nine LLMs, SSO and API access.

4. Profound

Profound is an enterprise AI marketing platform. Enterprise adds SSO and SOC 2, with custom pricing and an earlier estimate of about $40k a year that we have not re-confirmed.

5. Ahrefs Brand Radar and others

Ahrefs Brand Radar suits teams already on Ahrefs, with the AI Visibility Index from $199 a month. Conductor and BrightEdge are enterprise SEO platforms with AI layers and no published prices.

Who should pick which

Most fintech marketing teams should start with Promptwatch. The deciding factor is the combination of source analysis, crawler logs and conversion tracking, plus a stated ISO/IEC 27001 certification that helps in vendor review.

Teams with a central enterprise procurement process can add Profound to the shortlist.

Optimization-led teams can look at AthenaHQ.

Limits and care

AI tracking cannot guarantee a recommendation, and for a regulated sector it is not advice about compliance. Marketing claims about products, fees and safety must still pass your usual legal review, whatever an engine says. Use tracking to learn what is being said and which sources shape it.

Where to begin

Write twenty prompts covering fees, safety, comparisons and use cases. Run a baseline, read the cited sources and note which forums and review pages dominate. Then decide what to fix.

Questions to ask in a fintech evaluation

Ask each vendor which engines they track through real interfaces and which through API, because the difference affects how close the data is to what customers see. Ask how sentiment is scored and whether you can read the underlying responses. Ask whether crawler logs are verified at IP level, since fintech sites often run strict bot protection and spoofed user agents muddy the picture. Ask what happens to your data, who can access it and what security documentation is available.

Then run a two-week trial on the same prompt set in two tools and compare. The prompt set matters more than the vendor name: fees, safety, comparisons and use cases, written the way a customer would type them. A tool that surfaces the review sites and forums shaping your answers is doing the most useful part of the job.
