How much do AI visibility tools cost? 2026 pricing compared

AI visibility tools range from free tiers to enterprise contracts. Here is what the vendors publish, how pricing models differ, and what to budget.

The honest answer to "how much do AI visibility tools cost?" is that it ranges from nothing to tens of thousands of dollars a year, and the headline number rarely tells you what you will pay. Pricing models differ in what they count: prompts, credits, responses, engines, projects or seats. This guide lays out what vendors publish, read from their pages in late October 2026 where noted, and flags what we could not confirm.

Why prices are hard to compare

Units differ. Some vendors count prompts. Some count responses, where one response is one prompt on one engine. Some use credits. A plan with "50 prompts" tracked across five engines may be 250 responses a day, which is not the same as a plan with 50 prompts on one engine.

Engines are often add-ons. An entry price may cover a handful of engines, with others extra.

Billing differs. Annual billing is often cheaper per month. Several vendors quote the annual figure on the front page.

Features differ. A tracker and an end-to-end platform are not the same product at different prices.

Price tiers at a glance

Free and very low cost

Several tools offer a free tier or a trial. Promptwatch's Explore is free: 1 project, 1 seat, 10 prompts, 310 responses, ChatGPT only. AthenaHQ's Essential is free with 300 credits. Other entry points in our catalog include Wellows from $29 a month and GetIntel from $29 a month, with Starter covering 4 engines and 30 prompts. These are good for learning, less so for running a program.

Small teams, roughly $50 to $300 a month

Promptwatch Essential is $95 a month: 1 project, 1 seat, 50 prompts, 6,000 responses, 500 Agent Credits, 200K visitor events and a site audit. Ceyo lists Core at $39 a month billed yearly and Grow at $119 a month billed yearly. Am I Cited starts at 50 euros a month on a credit basis. HubSpot AEO is $50 a month ($45 yearly) for three engines. SE Ranking lists an AI Search add-on from EUR 79 a month on top of Core from EUR 109. Scrunch AI Core is $250 a month with 125 prompts and 5,000 responses. AthenaHQ Starter is $295 a month with 3,600 credits across 11 models.

Mid-market, roughly $300 to $800 a month

Promptwatch Professional is $245 a month with 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, crawler logs and custom reports. Business is $579 with 350 prompts, 42,000 responses, state and city tracking, Ads Radar and the automated Content Agent. Cognizo Platform is from $499 a month. Ahrefs Brand Radar AI Visibility Index starts at $199 a month, with $699 shown for all models, on top of an Ahrefs plan for some uses. Semrush AI Toolkit is listed at $99 a month per domain, which we could not verify on the vendor page.

Agencies

Promptwatch agency plans are Kick-off $199, Growth $399 and Scale $799 a month, each with unlimited projects and prompts and 10 seats. Ceyo's Pro+ is $399 a month billed yearly.

Enterprise

Profound lists a free 7-day Trial and custom Enterprise pricing, with an earlier estimate of about $40k a year that is not on its current page. Conductor publishes tiers without prices. BrightEdge does not publish prices.

What to budget

A solo marketer testing the idea can start free. A small team running a real program should expect to look at roughly $100 to $300 a month for a tracker, more if you need crawler logs, location targeting or content tools. Agencies should expect to pay for client capacity. Enterprise buyers should expect sales-led quotes.

Who should pick which

Anyone starting out can try Promptwatch Explore at no cost to see whether the process fits.

Teams that want visibility plus causes should look at Promptwatch Professional, where crawler logs start. That is usually the deciding step, because it is where you move from counting mentions to finding reasons.

Large organizations should request quotes.

Check before you buy

Prices change, and some of the figures here come from vendor pages read on specific dates. Confirm current pricing, billing terms and what is included before purchase.

Reading a pricing page critically

Look for the billing unit first. If the plan lists prompts, ask how many engines each prompt runs on. If it lists credits, work out how many responses a month you need: prompts multiplied by engines multiplied by days, divided by how often the tool actually refreshes. A plan that looks cheap at 30 prompts can be tight once you track five engines daily.

Next, check the trial. Promptwatch carries a 7-day trial on monthly billing for its lower paid plans, and several other tools offer card-free trials. A short trial with a fixed prompt set is a fair test of fit, but it will not show you a month of trend data.

Finally, add the cost of the work. A platform that shows causes, such as crawler errors and citation sources, shortens that work. A pure tracker leaves you to find the causes elsewhere, which usually means another subscription or more staff time.
