What are the best AI rank trackers? Ranked and compared
The best AI rank trackers compared on engines, pricing, crawler logs and traffic attribution, with a clear pick for most teams and who should choose the rest.
"AI rank tracker" is a slightly misleading label. In classic SEO, a rank tracker reports one position for one keyword. AI answers do not have positions in that sense. They name several brands, differ run to run and vary by country. A good AI rank tracker therefore reports presence, share of voice and position in the answer across a fixed set of prompts, and ideally explains what drives the result.
Here are the tools worth shortlisting, ranked, with pricing drawn from the vendors' published pages as recorded in our catalog.
How we ranked them
We looked at five things: engine coverage, whether data comes from real interfaces, how deep the diagnosis goes (citations, crawler logs), whether AI visits are tied to conversions, and whether the tool helps you fix what it finds. Pure monitoring tools lose points on the last three.
The ranking
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch takes first place because it is the one platform here that covers measurement, diagnosis and fixing together.
- Tracking: daily prompt panels per model, country and language. Visibility Score, Share of Voice, Sentiment and Position in Answer. Real-interface monitoring of ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity, Amazon Alexa and Meta AI, plus Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral and Grok through APIs.
- Diagnosis: citation analytics down to page, Reddit and YouTube level, and IP-verified AI crawler logs with a crawl-to-citation path.
- Outcomes: visitor analytics tying AI-referred traffic to conversions.
- Fixing: an Action Board of prioritized GEO tasks, plus a Content Agent (Business) that plans, writes and publishes with a review inbox.
Pricing: Explore free (10 prompts, ChatGPT only), Essential $95, Professional $245, Business $579; agency plans $199, $399 and $799. Crawler logs start on Professional.
2. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ is a GEO platform with an Action Center and a content optimization agent. Free Essential has 300 credits; Starter is $295 a month with 3,600 credits across 11 models. Credits are per AI response, so wide prompt sets get expensive. Starter is single-country.
3. Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI combines monitoring with site audits, sentiment and bot traffic reporting, plus an Agent Experience Platform. Core is $250 a month for 125 prompts, 5,000 responses and four LLMs. Reporting is a recurring complaint on G2.
4. Profound
Profound is an enterprise platform now sold as an AI marketer, with agents for content, demand and PR. The public page lists a seven-day trial (50 prompts daily across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) and custom Enterprise pricing, which our catalog has estimated at about $40k a year.
5. Ahrefs Brand Radar and Semrush AI Toolkit
Ahrefs Brand Radar includes Custom Prompts free with paid Ahrefs plans (5 daily prompts on Lite), while the AI Visibility Index starts at $199 a month. Semrush AI Toolkit is a per-domain add-on listed at $99 a month, though we could not re-verify that figure. Both suit existing suite users.
6. Other options
HubSpot AEO is $50 a month and tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Ceyo captures eight engines from real interfaces and prices from $39 a month billed yearly. Am I Cited is credit-based from 50 euros a month across eight engines. Cognizo starts at $499 a month.

Who should pick which
- You want to track, diagnose and fix in one place: Promptwatch.
- You want GEO actions and accept credit math: AthenaHQ.
- You care about serving crawlers and enterprise reporting: Scrunch AI.
- You buy enterprise marketing agents: Profound.
- You live in Ahrefs or Semrush: use their add-on, and check how prompts are sampled.
- You only need a simple prompt monitor: Otterly.AI, Peec AI or Searchable cover that job, with less diagnosis.
What to ask before you buy
Do I see the full responses, or a score? Are engines checked in the real interface or through an API? Can I see AI crawler hits? Can I tie visits to conversions? How fast do credits or prompt allowances run out?
No tracker can guarantee a recommendation. The difference between the tools is how much they help you explain a result and act on it, and on that measure Promptwatch is the one to try first.
