AI Search Visibility Monitoring for Brands: Prompts in Otterly, Peec, Profound, and Scrunch

How Otterly, Peec, Profound, and Scrunch handle prompts: limits, engines, refresh, personas, and regions. Plus the prompt research features to evaluate first before you pick one.

Brands shortlisting Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Profound, and Scrunch AI usually compare them on price. We think the better comparison is the prompt set, because the prompts are the instrument. Every number these tools report comes from the questions you load into them. A tracker with a great interface and a poor prompt set will measure the wrong thing very precisely, and every action you take afterward will aim at that wrong thing.

In our loop terms, prompts are where monitoring starts and where verification ends. You pick prompts to watch, you act on the ones you lose, and you judge the action by whether those same prompts move. So this comparison looks only at how each tool lets you build, run, and read prompts.

Five questions to ask about prompts

  1. How many prompts do you get at the price you'd actually pay?
  2. How many engines run each prompt, and does each engine consume a separate credit?
  3. How often do prompts refresh?
  4. Can you segment prompts by persona, country, or city?
  5. Does the tool help you choose prompts, with search volumes, difficulty, or fan-out queries?

The fifth question gets skipped most often, and it decides whether your prompt set reflects what buyers ask or what your marketing team guessed.

The platform to evaluate first

Promptwatch answers the fifth question better than any of the four. Prompt tracking comes with search volumes and difficulty scores, so you can weight your set toward questions people actually ask, and query fan-outs show the related searches an engine runs behind a prompt. Prompts can be organized by topics and tags, assigned personas, and targeted by country, state, or city. Prompt trends then show how each prompt's visibility and rankings move over time, with insight into what changed between checks. Monitoring runs on the real interfaces of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, and Copilot, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode.

Capacity is plain: 50 prompts on Essential ($95/mo), 150 on Professional ($245/mo), 350 on Business ($579/mo), and unlimited prompts on agency plans from $199/mo. The free Explore tier gives you 10 ChatGPT prompts to test your set before paying.

The bigger difference shows up after a prompt is lost. Citation analytics show which pages won it, content gap analysis identifies what you're missing, and Content Agents can draft and publish the page to Webflow or Framer after review. The same prompt in prompt trends then tells you whether the fix worked, and crawler logs (Professional and up) show whether the engine fetched it. None of the four named tools below closes that loop on its own.

For more on choosing prompts with volume and fan-out data, see query fan-outs, prompt volumes, and difficulty.

Scrunch AI

Scrunch gives you the most raw prompts at entry: Starter ($250/mo annual, $300 monthly) includes 350 custom prompts plus 1,000 industry prompts and 3 seats. Two caveats from our listing change the math. Prompt credits are consumed per engine, so running every prompt on several engines burns the allowance faster than the headline suggests. And data refreshes weekly. Setting up personas and prompts takes real configuration effort, so budget onboarding time. The payoff on the act side is the Agent Experience Platform, which serves AI-optimized page versions to crawlers.

Profound

Profound groups results into prompt clusters and reports citation share and share of voice per cluster. Its Prompt Volumes dataset of real query demand is the strongest prompt research asset among the four, but the full dataset is Enterprise only. Starter ($99/mo annual) covers ChatGPT alone with 50 prompts and one seat. Growth ($399/mo annual) gives 100 prompts across three engines with a 7-day trial; confirm which three before you build a Perplexity program on it. Billing is annual only, and Enterprise contracts start around $40k a year.

Otterly.AI

Otterly is the quickest to start. Lite costs $29/mo ($25 annual) for 15 prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Copilot. Standard is $189/mo for 100 prompts, Premium $489/mo for 400, and extra prompts run $99/mo per 100. Gemini, Claude, and AI Mode cost extra. Coverage spans 65+ countries. Our listing notes monitoring data can be up to seven days stale, and 15 prompts is a test allowance rather than a working program.

Peec AI

Peec is built around per-prompt scoring: you define the prompts, and it tracks visibility, sources, and competitor share for each. Starter is $95/mo for 50 prompts, 3 models, and one project, with unlimited seats. Additional models cost $35 to $165/mo each, and Claude and DeepSeek are Enterprise only. There is no historical backfill, so a new prompt has no history until it starts running. Persona and city segmentation aren't documented in our listing.

How we'd choose

If you're already set on one of the four, Scrunch gives you the most prompts and a distinctive act step, and Profound has the best demand data if you can reach Enterprise. Otterly and Peec are fine for a first look at a small prompt set. If you haven't committed, put your 50 most important buyer prompts into Promptwatch first and see what the volume and fan-out data does to that list.
