AIShortlist vs ShownInAI (2026): edit suggestions or drafted pages?
AIShortlist suggests edits to your existing pages after weekly checks on three engines. ShownInAI drafts three new pages a month for SaaS, $9 for the first month.
AIShortlist tells you which lines on your existing pages to change, while ShownInAI writes new pages for you and hands them over. That is the whole difference in one sentence, and it maps neatly onto the scale we use here: AIShortlist recommends, ShownInAI gets one step closer to doing the work, and neither publishes.
Both are small, cheap trackers. Vendor pages were read on 20 October 2026.

How AIShortlist works
AIShortlist, from Vera Danışmanlık in Istanbul, asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity your approved questions each week through their official APIs with web search on. You get a visibility score, share of voice, rank, the full answers and a rival radar. Question sets can be Turkish or English and tied to a country or a city.
Its recommend step is unusually grounded. It crawls your site (25 pages on Lite, up to 1,000 higher up) for page speed and AI bot access, and its text replacements are matched word for word against your current copy. Lite covers text suggestions for 1 page and 1 list page plan a month. Starter at $79 raises that to 2 pages, 3 list page plans and 5 new page suggestions. Growth at $199 adds 50 questions with 5 tracked daily, "a rival passed you" alerts and a team of 3.
The catch is reach. Three engines, weekly sampling for most questions, and API and MCP only from $499 a month. The English pricing page's title also says "then from $79 a month" while the page lists Lite lower, so check at checkout.
How ShownInAI works
ShownInAI is built by Aurumaxis Labs Limited for SaaS. You give it a domain, it infers your category and rivals, and it writes 10 unbranded buyer prompts of four kinds: "best X for Y", "X alternatives", "X vs Y" and "tools like X". Because your brand name never appears in the prompt, the score measures discovery rather than recall. For each answer it records whether you are named, your position, who is named instead and which sources are cited, such as G2, Capterra, Reddit and roundups.
Then it writes. Each month Starter produces three publish-ready pages aimed at your biggest gaps: comparison pages, alternatives pages and listing kits, with FAQ schema. That is a real reduction in work for a founder who has no writer. You still publish them yourself; no CMS publishing is described.
Pricing: Starter is $9 for the first month, then the standard rate, with tracking every 14 days and email alerts. Agency is $99 a month for up to 10 client sites, with white-label PDFs and an embeddable lead-gen scanner. Enterprise is custom. One-off reports cost $49 or $99, and the llms.txt lists a $299 GEO audit. There is a 7-day refund window and a refund promise if AI answers do not name you within 60 days.
The measurement is thin, and the site contradicts itself. The only AI provider its pages name is OpenAI. The homepage advertises "weekly or daily tracking with alerts to email and Slack", while Starter says every 14 days with email. The security page limits API access to "Growth and Enterprise" workspaces, and the pricing page has no Growth plan.
Who should pick which
Pick AIShortlist if you already have pages and want to improve them, if you work in Turkish, or if city-level question sets matter. Its suggestions are safe to hand to a writer.
Pick ShownInAI if you are an early SaaS founder with no comparison or alternatives pages yet. For $9 you get a first read and three drafts. Treat its scores as a ChatGPT sample, not a market view.
The Promptwatch option
Both tools stop at the same point: a file or a suggestion you have to ship and then check by hand. Promptwatch closes that loop. Content gap analysis finds the prompts where rivals are cited and you are not. Content Agents plan and write the page, you approve it in the review inbox, and it publishes to WordPress, Webflow or Framer.
Then it checks the work. Prompt tracking runs daily on paid plans across the major engines. Citation analytics show whether the new page, or a Reddit thread or YouTube video about you, is now being cited. Agent Analytics shows whether AI crawlers fetched the page, and visitor analytics whether the visits converted. Neither AIShortlist nor ShownInAI can tell you if their advice worked beyond the next sample.
Essential at $95 a month has 50 prompts, 6,000 responses and 5 AEO articles. Professional at $245 adds 150 prompts, 15 AEO articles and 25M crawler logs. Agencies start with Kick-off at $199 a month.
Verdict
AIShortlist is the better adviser for existing sites; ShownInAI is the cheapest way to get a few SaaS pages drafted. Both measure too little, too slowly, to report on. If you want the writing, publishing and proof in one workflow, start with Promptwatch.
