Best platform to monitor share of voice across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity

The best platform to monitor share of voice across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, ranked on engine coverage, how share is calculated, pricing and what you can do next.

Share of voice sounds simple: out of all the brands an AI answer names for your tracked prompts, what fraction is yours? The catch is that different platforms define the denominator differently, cover different engines, and sample them in different ways. Before ranking platforms, three things are worth checking.

Before you compare

Which of the three engines does the plan actually include? This is where many shortlists go wrong. Some entry plans cover ChatGPT and Perplexity but not Gemini, or Gemini and ChatGPT but not Perplexity. We note this for each platform below.

What counts as a mention? If a tool counts a passing name in a list the same as a top recommendation, your share of voice will look better than it is. Ask whether position in the answer is reported separately.

How is it sampled? Real-interface sampling shows what users see. API sampling can differ. Ask which is used for each engine.

The ranking

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch reports Visibility Score, Share of Voice, Sentiment and Position in Answer as separate measures, so a brand named fifth in a list does not look like a winner. Monitors run prompt panels daily per model, country and language. ChatGPT (Search), Gemini and Perplexity are all monitored through the real interface, alongside Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Amazon Alexa and Meta AI, and every paid plan includes all active models. The free Explore plan is ChatGPT only.

The heatmap compares any two dimensions, such as brands against models or topics against countries, which makes it easy to see that your share of voice is strong on Perplexity and weak on Gemini. A/B period comparison shows change between windows, competitors can be auto-discovered and merged, and a Brand Book decides what counts as a mention. Reports export to PDF, Excel and CSV, or flow into Looker Studio.

Pricing: Essential $95/mo (50 prompts), Professional $245/mo (150 prompts, custom reports), Business $579/mo (350 prompts). Share of voice tells you the score. Crawler logs (from Professional) and citation analytics explain it.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ tracks 11 models on Starter at $295 a month, with unlimited prompts and competitors but a credit meter (3,600 credits, one per AI response). It reports a GEO score with sentiment. Credit consumption grows with every engine and prompt you add, so forecast it.

3. Scrunch AI

Scrunch AI Core is $250 a month and tracks four LLMs: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Gemini is not on that list, so for this exact trio you would need Enterprise, which adds nine LLMs.

4. Profound

Profound tracks up to nine engines on custom Enterprise pricing. Its trial runs ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, not Perplexity. It is sold as marketing agents, with AI search as one channel.

5. Ahrefs Brand Radar

Ahrefs Brand Radar covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, AI Overviews and AI Mode and reports brand and competitor mention share. Custom Prompts is included with paid Ahrefs plans with small daily quotas (5, 10 or 20). The AI Visibility Index starts at $199 a month. It is more directional than a precise prompt panel.

6. Semrush AI Toolkit

Semrush AI Toolkit covers AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity with competitor share comparisons. The catalog lists $99 a month per domain and 25 prompts, though the price could not be re-verified at the last check.

7. HubSpot AEO

HubSpot AEO tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini at $50 a month ($45 yearly), 25 prompts a day, with competitor share of voice and prioritized recommendations. It is a low-cost way in, with a 28-day trial.

8. LLM Pulse

LLM Pulse includes ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews on every plan. Starter is €49 a month (50 prompts, weekly tracking), with unlimited seats.

A note on Gauge

Gauge starts at $599 a month for 600 prompts run daily, but its Growth plan covers ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Copilot, not Gemini or Perplexity.

Who should pick which

Pick Promptwatch if you want share of voice you can break down by model, country, topic and competitor, and then investigate with citations and crawler logs. Pick HubSpot AEO or LLM Pulse for a low-cost start. Pick AthenaHQ if a task queue matters. Pick Ahrefs or Semrush if your team already lives there.

Reading share of voice sensibly

Look at it by engine, not blended. A healthy blended number can hide an engine where you are absent. Track it over weeks, because answers vary between runs. And separate branded prompts from unbranded ones, since share of voice on branded prompts is mostly flattery.

No platform can promise that a good share of voice will turn into traffic or revenue. Tie it to visits through visitor analytics before you promote it as a business metric.

To test the numbers on your own prompts, try the free Explore plan or a 7-day trial of Promptwatch.
