Paprik AI vs Known Agents (2026): prompt tracker or bot analytics?

Paprik AI asks seven AI engines your buyer questions from $49/mo. Known Agents never asks them; it measures and controls the bots on your server, free to start.

Paprik AI asks the AI engines about you and reads your Cloudflare crawler traffic on the side, while Known Agents never asks the engines anything and instead measures and controls the bots that hit your server. They overlap on one screen, the crawler report, and almost nowhere else.

On this site we sort tools by how much work they take off your plate. Does a tool only monitor, does it recommend the next step, or does it carry the step out? Paprik recommends. Known Agents acts, but only on access: it rewrites your robots.txt and blocks bad bots for you. Neither one writes or publishes content.

Vendor details were read on paprik.ai and knownagents.com on 20 October 2026.

How Paprik AI works

Paprik runs your buyer questions every day on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot, though not all at once. Solo ($49 a month) covers ChatGPT only, for 1 brand, 20 prompts and 5 competitors. Pro ($199 a month) covers any three of the seven engines per brand, for 2 brands, 100 prompts and up to three countries. More engines mean an Enterprise contract. Annual billing is $490 and $1,990 a year, and every plan has unlimited seats.

It also fact-checks what the engines say and traces wrong claims to the page spreading them, then ranks fixes on your site and off it. Pro adds one-click content generation. That is a real recommend step. Publishing stays with you.

The Agent Analytics tab is the surprise at this price. Connect Cloudflare and Paprik shows which bots requested which pages, grouped by company and purpose, and counts a page only when your server actually served it, which filters out probes and 404s. Paprik is candid that bot identity comes from the user agent and can be spoofed. Not on Cloudflare? Then the tab has nothing to read.

How Known Agents works

Known Agents, formerly Dark Visitors, sells Agent Analytics (which crawlers, scrapers and agents hit which pages), AI Chat Referral Tracking, Automatic Robots.txt and an Agent Identification API. Data arrives server side, and Shopify, Webflow or HubSpot sites go through a Cloudflare Worker.

This is where it acts. The robots.txt product adds rules for the bot categories you choose as new agents appear, and the WordPress plugin or a Cloudflare Worker blocks bad bots. Nobody on your team has to track new user agents by hand.

What it cannot tell you is whether that traffic turned into a recommendation. Its citation counts are estimates inferred from agent fetches, as its own llms.txt says. Free is $0 with 1 project and 100K events a month. Paid tiers:

  • Startup: $29 a month, 3 projects, 1M events
  • Growth: $299 a month, 10 projects, 10M events
  • Enterprise: custom, usage-based events

Every API call counts as an event, and Known Agents suggests budgeting about twice your human visits, so busy sites leave the free tier fast. Some log routes depend on your stack too: Cloudflare Logpush needs Cloudflare Enterprise.

Who should pick which

Pick Paprik if you are a small marketing team on Cloudflare and want to know what the engines say about you, with a crawler report thrown in. Take Pro; Solo's ChatGPT-only view is too narrow to act on.

Pick Known Agents if the question is about bots, not answers. Publishers, docs teams and stores that want to control who fetches their content will get more from it than from any prompt tracker.

The Promptwatch option

Promptwatch does both jobs in one workspace and then joins them. Agent Analytics reads crawler logs from Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN or a custom HTTP source, with error tracking and a crawl-to-citation path. Prompt tracking and citation analytics show what the engines then said and which pages, Reddit threads or YouTube videos they cited. Visitor analytics, via a script or GTM template, ties AI-referred sessions to conversions.

That join is what neither tool here has: ClaudeBot fetches a page, the page gets cited, a visitor converts, and you see all three. When the data shows a gap, Content Agents write the page and publish it to WordPress, Webflow or Framer after review in an inbox.

The plan to look at is Professional at $245 a month: 2 projects, 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 1M visitor events and 25M crawler logs. Essential at $95 a month covers prompt tracking and visitor analytics if crawler logs can wait.

Verdict

Paprik is a fairly priced tracker with a crawler bonus for Cloudflare users. Known Agents is the stronger bot tool. If you want to know whether a crawl ended in a citation and a sale, and want the fix written for you, start with Promptwatch.

FAQ

Does Known Agents track what ChatGPT says about my brand?

No. It measures bots fetching your pages and humans arriving from AI platforms. It does not run prompts on AI engines.

Does Paprik AI work without Cloudflare?

Prompt tracking does. The crawler tab reads from a Cloudflare connection, and the pages we read do not document other CDNs or raw server logs.
