What are the best AI visibility tools for small businesses?
The best AI visibility tools for small businesses, ranked by price, prompt limits and what you actually learn, from free options to $295 a month platforms.
A small business owner does not need an enterprise dashboard. They need to know whether ChatGPT, Google's AI answers and Perplexity mention them when a customer asks for a plumber, an accountant, a bakery or a project tool. They also need a bill that does not look like a second salary.
This guide ranks AI visibility tools for small businesses. Prices are from the vendor pricing pages as recorded in the catalog entries on this site (read on 24 October 2026) unless noted. Several vendors have changed their plans in the last year, so check the live page before paying.
What "small business" changes
Small teams have three constraints that enterprise buyers do not:
- Prompt budget. You can usefully track 20 to 50 prompts, not 500. A tool that gives you 15 prompts is a trial, not a working plan.
- Time. Nobody on staff will work a complex dashboard. The tool should tell you what to fix.
- Cost. Per-engine add-ons, credits and per-seat pricing add up fast.
The other rule applies at every size. No tool can guarantee that an AI engine recommends you. They show where you stand and what to improve.
The ranking
1. Promptwatch: best overall, with a free start
Promptwatch is the best fit for most small businesses that are serious about this channel, because it shows you what to do after it shows where you stand. Explore is free (10 prompts, ChatGPT only), which is enough to see if you appear at all. Essential is $95 a month with 50 prompts, 6,000 responses, a 7-day trial on monthly billing, and every active model. Annual billing is 12 months for the price of 10.
Even on Essential you get the Action Board, a prioritized list of GEO fixes, content gap analysis showing which customer questions your site does not answer, a weekly site audit with 21 checks, and visitor analytics that attribute AI-referred traffic and conversions. Content can be created and published to WordPress, Webflow or Framer. Crawler logs, which show whether AI bots can reach your site, start on Professional ($245 a month), so on Essential you rely on the site audit and the free Agentic Readiness Check for that.
Free tools include the AI Visibility Report, a no-login scan that is a good first step before you pay for anything.
2. BrightLocal Local AI Visibility: best if you serve a local area
BrightLocal includes AI visibility in plans from $41 a month for one location ($31 a month if billed annually). It tracks up to 20 prompts per location across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews, scores the location from 0 to 100, and lists the directories AI cites for your category. Limits: three engines, a hard 20-prompt cap, and no export. A natural pick if you already use it for local listings.
3. Local Falcon: best for map-based local businesses
Local Falcon runs geo-grid scans, sending the same prompt from points around your location, and starts at $24.99 a month in credits (with 100 free credits on signup). A single 9x9 scan costs 81 credits, so the allowance goes quickly. Useful for restaurants, clinics and shops where location matters, but it measures visibility only.
4. HubSpot AEO and Rankscale: cheap monitoring
HubSpot AEO is $50 a month ($45 yearly) and tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini with citation analysis and recommendations. It is included in Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise. Rankscale starts at $20 a month on yearly billing, credit-based, with the credit burn varying by engine. Both are fine for a first look. Neither lists crawler logs.
5. SEO suites you may already pay for
Ahrefs Brand Radar includes Custom Prompts free with paid Ahrefs plans, with a daily quota of 5 prompts on Lite. SE Ranking offers an AI Search add-on from EUR 79 a month on top of Core from EUR 109. Semrush AI Toolkit was listed at $99 a month per domain but we could not confirm that on the vendor's page. If you already pay for one of these suites, using its add-on costs little.
6. Trackers for teams that want only monitoring
LLM Pulse is EUR 49 a month for weekly tracking, 50 prompts and unlimited seats. Superlines is EUR 79 a month with three engines of your choice. At the end of the list, Otterly.AI is $29 a month for 15 prompts, with extra prompts at $99 a month per 100.
Larger platforms: not aimed at small business
AthenaHQ Starter is $295 a month on credits, and Scrunch AI Core is $250 a month. Both are credible, but they target teams with a marketing function. Profound is Enterprise, with an estimated $40k a year.

Who should pick which
- A business that wants one platform and a free trial run: Promptwatch.
- A local service business already in BrightLocal: use the included module.
- A shop where the map matters: add Local Falcon.
- A team that only wants a cheap monitor: HubSpot AEO or LLM Pulse.
A 30-minute start
Write down the ten questions a customer would ask before choosing you, including your town. Run the free AI Visibility Report or Explore. Look at which sources the engines cite, which are often directories, review sites and local news, and claim or improve your profile there. Add a clear page answering each question on your own site. Check again in a month. For most small businesses that routine, not a bigger tool, produces the first movement.
