Azoma vs Profound 2026

Profound sells enterprise marketing agents with AI search as one channel. Azoma sells agents for retail product data. What each one changes, what it costs to find out, and where Promptwatch fits.

Azoma names Profound among the tools buyers most often compare it with. The comparison deserves doing properly, even though the two products barely overlap once you look at what their agents actually change. Profound is a large marketing-agent platform in which AI search is one channel next to content, demand, and PR. Azoma is a commerce platform whose agents work on product data for retailer and LLM shopping assistants.

Azoma facts were checked on azoma.ai on 22 October 2026. Profound facts come from our catalog listing.

What "agent" means in each pitch

Profound's homepage leads with marketing agents for AEO and SEO, content and demand, and PR. Under the agents sits its tracking: scheduled prompts across ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Claude, reported as citation share, share of voice, and competitor cite-rates by prompt cluster. Its Prompt Volumes dataset estimates real query demand per prompt, which our listing treats as genuinely unique intelligence. The agent suite itself is an Enterprise feature.

Azoma's agents have a narrower brief and a concrete write path. They enrich product attributes, generate PDP copy, imagery, and blog content against approved claims, publish into Seller Central, Vendor Central, Salsify, and Shopify, and syndicate content to the third-party sources shopping agents cite. Answer Integrity flags AI answers that get a product wrong.

So the buyer's question is short. Profound's agents act on your marketing program. Azoma's act on your catalogue. If you cannot say which of those is broken, neither demo will tell you.

Engines versus shelves

Profound's Enterprise tier covers up to ten engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Grok, Meta AI, DeepSeek, and AI Mode. The public tiers are far narrower. Starter is ChatGPT only, and Growth covers three engines.

Azoma's chat-engine list is shorter, and it reaches where the buying happens: Amazon Alexa for Shopping, Amazon COSMO, Walmart Sparky, and Lazada LazzieChat, plus ChatGPT with ChatGPT Shopping, Gemini with AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude, Meta AI, and Siri. Visibility is reported at brand, category, and SKU level, using prompts generated from a shopper digital twin.

Our listing puts Profound's realistic setup at one to three months with a dedicated owner before the data is solid enough to act on. Azoma does not publish an onboarding timeline. It does advertise enterprise support from what it calls AI visibility engineers. Ask for the timeline in writing.

Reading the evidence

Profound's listing carries a caution worth repeating. G2 reviewers have documented citation counts that did not match manual ChatGPT checks, and sampled prompts give a directional picture rather than a census. It also holds a 4.6/5 G2 average and a Winter 2026 category leader badge, so this is a credibility gap at the edges, not a broken product.

Azoma's published results come from Azoma. It reports Mars at +17.7% agentic shelf visibility and +68% year-on-year SKU revenue, and a 5x share-of-mentions gain in Rufus for Yogii and Deer & Oak. SKU-level revenue attribution is the strongest outcome metric a commerce tool can offer, as long as you can audit how it is calculated.

Neither vendor publishes a crawl-to-citation path for the website. Profound's listing documents no crawler-log product and no visitor conversion tracking. Azoma monitors crawler visits and reads AI traffic through GA4, without published CDN connectors or log volumes.

Where we land

On this site Profound ranks below the dedicated AI search platforms, and Azoma ranks below Promptwatch and AthenaHQ. For most readers the right first purchase is neither. It is Promptwatch, and the reason is this site's test: what does the agent change, and how is that change verified?

Promptwatch's Content Agents change your website. They choose topics from content gap analysis, write GEO pages, and publish to Webflow, Framer, or WordPress through a review inbox. Business at $579/mo runs the agent automatically; Professional at $245/mo includes five AEO articles. Verification comes from Agent Analytics, which reads crawler logs from your CDN and links a ChatGPTBot or ClaudeBot fetch to the citation that followed, and from visitor analytics, which counts AI-referred conversions through a script or GTM template. Citation analytics cover pages, domains, Reddit, and YouTube. Every paid plan tracks eleven AI surfaces with MCP and REST API access. Prices start at a free tier and $95/mo, and nothing requires a $40k contract to try.

The concession is real: Promptwatch does not track Amazon or Walmart agents. If retail shelves are where your AI-assisted sales close, keep Azoma on the list for that surface and run Promptwatch for the site. Open Promptwatch.

Questions to ask both vendors

  • Profound: which agents does our contract include, and which engines does our tier cover?
  • Profound: how do your citation counts compare with a manual check on ten of our own prompts?
  • Azoma: which retailer back ends will the agent write to, and who maintains the approved-claims library?
  • Azoma: what refresh cadence and prompt limits come with the quote, and when do you expect SOC 2 certification?
  • Both: can you show crawler logs proving an AI bot fetched a page your agent changed?
