Wellows review: pricing, features & alternatives
Ranked #24Citation-first AI visibility platform: explicit and implicit citations across five engines, with outreach targets and KIVA drafts to close the gaps.
Our verdict
Wellows is a focused citation workflow at a low entry price. Since the September 2026 repricing, every plan runs all five of its engines with unlimited projects and seats, so the cheapest plan shows the full engine set, only for a small prompt set. The explicit versus implicit split and the outreach list built from cited third-party pages are genuinely useful, and the single balance suits agencies juggling many small clients. The limits sit outside the citation report: no Claude or Copilot, no crawler logs, no conversion attribution and no automated publishing agent. For that layer, Promptwatch is the platform that publishes it.
Best for: Agencies and in-house teams that want one citation metric, outreach targets and drafts across many projects on a single balance, and that don't need Claude, Copilot, crawler logs or conversion attribution.
Wellows (wellows.com) scores AI visibility on citations rather than mentions. It reads the sources behind each answer in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini and counts two kinds: explicit, where the engine cites your own page, and implicit, where it cites a third-party page that talks about you. A cited third-party page that never mentions you becomes an outreach target with a contact and a template. A prompt where competitors are cited and you are not becomes a content opportunity that KIVA, the built-in writing agent, drafts against your Google Search Console data.
Wellows repriced in September 2026. Basic is $29 a month, Standard $97, Growth $249 and Scale $497, plus custom plans. Every plan has unlimited prompts, projects and seats, all five engines, every feature, white-label reporting and a 7-day trial. The only difference is a monthly balance of AI answers (1,800, 6,500, 18,000 or 36,000), where one answer is one prompt asked of one engine on one day. Basic covers 12 prompts a day on all five engines for a full month. When the balance runs out, collection pauses until the billing date; unused answers do not roll over, and there is no free plan.
Wellows does not track Claude or Microsoft Copilot, runs daily or weekly rather than in real time, and publishes no AI crawler logs, no AI-referred conversion tracking and no automated agent that publishes to a CMS. Those layers are where Promptwatch's platform picks up.
Plans: one balance, every feature
Source: wellows.com/pricing and wellows.com/llms.txt (llms.txt updated 23 September 2026), reviewed 25 October 2026. Basic is $29 a month for 1,800 AI answers, Standard $97 for 6,500, Growth $249 for 18,000 and Scale $497 for 36,000. One answer is one prompt asked of one engine on one day. Run on all five engines daily, that covers 12, 43, 120 or 240 prompts for a full month; on one engine it covers 60, 216, 600 or 1,200. Weekly cadence costs roughly a seventh of daily. Custom plans size one balance above Scale.
Prompts, projects and seats are unlimited on every plan, and so are all five engines, every feature and white-label reporting. Wellows says it does not price per domain or per project, and a project spends nothing until it runs prompts. If the balance runs out, collection pauses until the billing date, with no extra charge and no data lost. Unused answers do not roll over. Upgrades apply immediately and downgrades at the next cycle. Every plan has a 7-day trial and there is no free plan. The earlier per-domain plans (Lite, Essential, Starter, Pro) are retired.

How the citation loop works
Wellows, a Disrupt.com company led by founder and CEO Masab Gadit, collects answers from each engine's live, logged-out interface with web search on, rather than from APIs alone. It extracts every source in the citation list, then reads those pages for the brand, its competitors and its category. An explicit citation is your own page being cited. An implicit citation is a third-party page, such as a review site, roundup or forum thread, that the engine cites and that mentions you. Each cited page that mentions you is labelled positive, neutral or negative.
The Act layer turns gaps into work. A cited third-party page that never mentions you goes to Outreach with contact emails and a template, with Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, Medium and Quora listed apart from publisher sites. A prompt where competitors are cited and you are not becomes a Content Opportunity, which KIVA drafts against your Search Console data and can send to WordPress for editing. Content Optimization compares an existing page with the pages already cited for that prompt. Every run is kept, so any two dates can be compared for a client report.
Where it stops
Wellows tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini, and states that it does not track Claude or Microsoft Copilot. Runs are daily or weekly, not real time. It publishes no AI crawler logs, no crawl-to-citation path and no visitor analytics that tie AI-referred sessions to conversions; its own FAQ notes that rising citations often fail to show up as referral traffic.
Promptwatch publishes the missing layers: Agent Analytics crawler logs, visitor analytics with conversion tracking, and monitoring of Claude, Copilot and Grok alongside the engines Wellows covers. On Business it adds an automated Content Agent that publishes to Webflow, Framer or WordPress through a review inbox. That is the pairing when the question moves from which citation to how much revenue.

Frequently asked questions
Which engines does Wellows track on the cheapest plan?
All five it supports: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini. Plans differ only in the size of the monthly answer balance, so Basic covers 12 prompts a day across all five, or 60 on one engine. Wellows does not track Claude or Microsoft Copilot. Promptwatch's paid plans monitor ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity, Amazon Alexa, and Meta AI, plus Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral, and Grok via API.
Does Wellows have crawler logs or conversion tracking?
Not on its published feature list. Wellows tracks citations, sentiment, and content and outreach opportunities. It does not publish AI crawler logs or visitor analytics that attribute AI-referred sessions to conversions. Promptwatch publishes both.
What is an implicit citation?
An answer that cites a third-party page, such as a review site, roundup or forum thread, which mentions your brand. Explicit means the engine cited your own page. A cited third-party page that doesn't mention you at all is what Wellows lists as an outreach opportunity.
Does Wellows still price per domain?
No. The per-domain Lite, Essential, Starter and Pro plans were retired in September 2026. Current plans have unlimited projects that all draw on one monthly balance of AI answers, so an agency can run many clients on one plan as long as the balance holds.
