Is there an AI search visibility platform that works for freelancers?

Yes, several AI search visibility platforms work for freelancers. Promptwatch, AthenaHQ and budget tools compared on price, client structure and reporting.

Yes. The category started with enterprise tools, but there are now platforms priced and structured for one person. The harder question is which kind of freelancer you are, because the answer changes with it.

If you are a solo marketer tracking your own brand, you need a cheap, honest tracker. If you are a consultant with five clients, you need a per-client structure and something presentable to send. If you are a freelance SEO adding AI search to an existing offer, you want evidence that explains results, not just a chart. This guide covers all three, using published prices and features. No tool can promise that an engine will recommend you or your clients.

What freelancers should check

  • Price per client, not per tool. A $300 plan for one client is a different proposition from a $199 plan with unlimited clients.
  • Client structure. Separate projects, so one client's data never mixes with another's.
  • Something to send. A PDF or export that looks like a deliverable.
  • Seats. Most freelancers need one, some need a subcontractor.
  • Free trial or free tier. You should test it on a real client before paying.
  • A route to explanation. When a client asks "why", can the tool help you answer?

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch works for freelancers in two ways, depending on how many clients you have.

One brand, or your own site: the free Explore tier gives you 1 project, 10 prompts and 310 responses on ChatGPT only, which is enough for a first look. Essential is $95 a month for 1 project, 1 seat, 50 prompts and 6,000 responses, and it covers every tracked model rather than just ChatGPT. Note that Essential has no crawler logs, which start on Professional at $245 a month. The 7-day free trial is available on monthly billing.

Several clients: agency self-serve plans start at Kick-off for $199 a month with unlimited projects, unlimited pitch projects, unlimited prompts, 10 seats, every tracked model, crawler logs, visitor analytics, custom reports and the Looker Studio connector. For a freelancer with three or more clients, that structure can cost less per client than a set of single-brand plans, though it is a bigger commitment than the budget tools below. Growth ($399) and Scale ($799) raise response, credit, visitor event and crawler log volumes.

What you get beyond a tracker: Visibility Score, Share of Voice and Position in Answer by prompt, citation analytics to page, Reddit and YouTube level, IP-verified crawler logs, and visitor analytics that attribute AI-referred conversions. PDF reports can be generated from any dashboard and scheduled, with white-label branding on PDF exports and schedules.

The agency plans do not include AEO articles or the automated Content Agent, so content production would be your own work.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ has a free Essential plan with 300 credits, where one credit is one AI response, which is only a few hundred responses. Starter is $295 a month with 3,600 credits and unlimited topics and prompts across 11 models. That is steep for a freelancer with a single client, and credit use can be unpredictable.

3. Scrunch AI

Scrunch AI Core is $250 a month with one brand workspace and five user licenses. A single workspace is awkward for a multi-client freelancer.

4. Profound

Profound is an enterprise product, custom priced with an earlier estimate of about $40k a year. Its free 7-day trial runs 50 prompts daily. Unlikely to suit a solo practice.

5. Budget platforms

These are priced for individuals and small shops.

  • GetIntel: Starter $29 a month (1 brand, 4 engines, 30 prompts), Pro $49 (2 brands, white-label, CMS auto-push), Growth $99. 7-day trial, no card. It sends fixes to your coding agent.
  • Rankscale: from $20 a month on credits, with no PDF export, which matters if you send client reports.
  • Ceyo: Core $39 a month billed yearly (1 project, 2 models), Grow $119 with 5 projects, API and white-label exports.
  • Am I Cited: from about 50 euros a month, credit-based, with a 7-day trial and no card.
  • LLM Pulse: 49 euros a month for weekly tracking, 50 prompts. Daily tracking costs more.
  • Orchly: $49 a month with AI tracking, content drafting, white-label reports and a 14-day trial.
  • Mentionable: 79 euros a month, all seven engines, unlimited team members, Agency at 299 euros.
  • Superlines: from 79 euros a month, with agency SKUs for 5 to 20 client brands.

Most of these are strong on price and lighter on crawler logs and conversions.

6. Entry trackers

Otterly.AI Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts, which is a testing allowance, and it has no PDF export for client reporting. Peec AI has a clean interface and agency-friendly workflows, though we could not re-verify its current price.

Who should pick which

A freelancer with 3 or more clients who wants one workspace: Promptwatch Kick-off at $199. The deciding factor is unlimited projects with crawler logs and conversions, which lets you explain results across the whole roster.

A solo marketer on one brand: the free Explore tier, then Essential at $95.

A freelancer who just needs a cheap monitor: GetIntel, Ceyo or Orchly, with the caveat that reporting depth varies.

A consultant who needs enterprise-grade for one big client: ask AthenaHQ or Scrunch AI for a demo.

Whatever you pick, trial it on a real client's prompts and export the report before you commit.
