The Prompting Company vs AirOps 2026

AirOps gives you a content workflow engine to build and run yourself. The Prompting Company writes the articles, or runs the whole program, and adds agent usability audits for devtools. Here is what each actually does.

Both of these tools produce content for AI search, which puts them on the acting side of this site's line. The difference is who does the producing. AirOps hands you a workflow engine and expects your team to build the pipeline. The Prompting Company writes a fixed number of articles for you, or takes the whole program off your hands for $3,000 a month.

How content gets made

AirOps is infrastructure. You compose multi-step workflows that research, draft, enforce brand voice through brand kits and knowledge bases, inject schema, and pause at review gates before anything ships. Volume is limited by tasks rather than articles: Solo includes 35,000 tasks and Pro 100,000, with extra Solo tasks at $0.025 each. That model rewards teams who want hundreds of pages and have someone who enjoys building pipelines. Our listing also notes that overage protection ships switched off, so turn it on first.

The Prompting Company counts articles. Pro ($299/mo) includes 8 AI-optimized articles a month plus content optimization, and each article costs 20 credits from the plan's 4,000. White-glove ($3,000/mo) raises that to 50 articles, adds weekly and custom reports, and assigns a dedicated success manager and a specialist on a 24-hour SLA. You don't build anything. You also can't scale past the allowance without more credits.

How content gets published

AirOps lists CMS integrations for publishing, alongside connectors for SEO research, project management, and an MCP and API connector.

The Prompting Company's current pages don't name a CMS. TechCrunch reported in October 2025 that it hosted roughly half a million AI-optimized pages for a Fortune 10 customer and routed AI agents to them. If you need articles inside your own Webflow or WordPress, confirm the mechanism before you sign.

Tracking and measurement

Neither tool is primarily a measurement product. AirOps Solo includes ChatGPT insights only, and Pro covers 7 or more answer engines. The Prompting Company tracks 25 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini on Basic, 100 prompts with Google AI added on Pro, and custom counts with Claude, DeepSeek, Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode on White-glove.

For outcomes, The Prompting Company lists Google Analytics and PostHog. AirOps publishes no visitor analytics. Neither documents AI crawler logs or a crawl-to-citation path, so neither can tell you whether a bot fetched the page you just published.

Who should pick which

Pick AirOps if you have a content operations person and a volume goal, and you would rather own the pipeline than rent articles. Budget time for the build.

Pick The Prompting Company if you sell developer software, want someone else to write, and care whether coding agents can complete tasks with your docs or API. The Agent Experience audit is on Enterprise, and coding-agent tracking starts at White-glove.

Both leave the same gap: proof. After either tool ships a page, you still need to know whether AI crawlers fetched it, whether an answer cited it, and whether the referred visit converted.

Where Promptwatch fits

Promptwatch fills that gap and can replace the writing too. Agent Analytics reads AI crawler logs from your CDN (25M on Professional at $245/mo) and maps the crawl-to-citation path. Visitor analytics ties AI-referred sessions to conversions. Citation analytics go to page, domain, Reddit, and YouTube. Professional includes 5 AEO articles, and Business ($579/mo) adds the automated Content Agent, which publishes to Webflow, Framer, or WordPress through a review inbox. Agency plans don't include the automated Content Agent.

If you keep AirOps for volume, Promptwatch tells you which of those pages earn citations. If you are weighing The Prompting Company for discovery alone, Promptwatch covers more engines for less: Essential ($95/mo) tracks 50 prompts on every model it supports, against 25 prompts on three engines for $99. Start with Promptwatch.
